Guest worth_the_wait Posted 7 January 2020 Posted 7 January 2020 On the LCFC website ticket information for the Villa away match, it says under the "Important information" section: "Children under 14 are not permitted to attend Villa Park unless accompanied by an adult 18 years and over." Sounds a bit restrictive to me, or is that just a sign of the times?
Sean2000 Posted 7 January 2020 Posted 7 January 2020 There is some merit in this idea. We've got kids in parts of the ground (accompanied or not, doesn't matter) who are taking a seat that an adult could have had. We then have 2000 empty seats in the family stand that the kid above could have had but which an unaccompanied adult cannot buy. If you want to sell those 2000 seats you either have to reduce the size of the family stand allocation or restrict the ability of children to sit anywhere other than the family stand. Either option maximises attendance. I have sympathy with the club though too. Predicting demand for this one was difficult for all the reasons previously stated. Too late for this game now, but it's a lesson to be learnt for sure.

To be honest, I usually sit in there with my 13 year old, but as the tickets were cheap everywhere we've taken advantage of this to sit above the dugouts in the main stand for a change. Does this mean I'm in trouble?
HighPeakFox Posted 7 January 2020 Posted 7 January 2020 Keep checking the official site. I refreshed and suddenly found 2 tickets together in the West Stand. Not entirely sure how but persevere.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 7 January 2020 Posted 7 January 2020 Surprised they haven't relaxed the family stand ticket policy.

l444ry Posted 7 January 2020 Posted 7 January 2020 Only 350 left in the Family Stand and 400 in the Weller/Walkers area. Been some late buying it seems.

Not a bad turnout for a 1st leg, in between 2 other home games. Compare that to Man Utd, who were about 6-7000 under capacity tonight for a Manchester derby.

Number on the website keep fluctuating as usual but should be a near sell out tomorrow with 100 odd tickets in family stand left

Does this mean I'm in trouble? Perfectly reasonable thing for you to do. The club could have anticipated that by switching a P block from family to general sale. Too late now of course, but hopefully they'll bear in mind in future.
