I can form a dislike for individual supporters of other teams though if I consider them to be arrogant . However, when I talk football with most other supporters it’s usually a decent experience with balanced discussion about both our teams. This for me too. Maybe we're just mellowing with age Mike As a youth I disliked Forest but that was probably more envy/jealousy around their success back then. Nowadays I've realised that to dislike/hate an entire club is a bit odd really. All clubs have their fair share of bell ends and plastics and we're no different. To label an entire club as this, that or the other is just too much of a generalisation. Just look back through the Vichai tragedy thread and you'll see the best of supporters from all clubs coming on here and sympathising with us. And when we won the league, we had fans from pretty much every team outside of North London rooting for us. These days I just cba to hate/dislike any team really.
st albans fox Posted 26 December 2019 Posted 26 December 2019 Liverpool because their fans will be insufferable for so long over this season and their inevitable title win .........
fox_up_north Posted 26 December 2019 Posted 26 December 2019 New money Man City fans. I live up north these days and United fans grate me but at least they have A) won stuff historically and with an ethos B) not run by tax dodging oil barons who pretend to care about the community C) got a stadium designed with football in mind, rather than a library Old Man City fans appreciate the irony and I've heard a few of them have moved over to supporting Stockport but it's the attitude that comes with the new breed. It's like 90s Man United but without the success and young English players to back it up.
Alf Bentley Posted 26 December 2019 Posted 26 December 2019 Like some of the other "veteran posters", I now struggle to feel hatred for anyone. Unlike youthful days, I don't even hate the Tories most of the time, never mind a football club. OK, I do manage to hate the ex-wife some of the time, but even that's sporadic.... That said, I do enjoy seeing certain clubs lose...... - Palace: There's just a horrible, groundlessly smug Surrey-ness to them, somehow (though I like Hodgson) - Dover: Grew up as a Folkestone fan. They were always slightly better than us & usually beat us. Nuff said. I'd actively like to see Forest & Derby get promoted for the local rivalry, particularly as I have a couple of mates who support those 2 clubs. Us being far superior to them was fun for a couple of years but has lost its shine now. As for Cov, you just have to feel sorry for any fanbase that suffers that. I like to see the "big clubs" - particularly the moneybags clubs - come a cropper. That fluctuates between clubs over the years. This season, assuming we don't win the PL, I'd prefer Liverpool to win it and not Man City, because of Man City's moneybags, recent success & Pep being an annoying git (as well as an outstanding manager). Came close to hating Chelsea a few years ago, winning titles with Jose-ball & Abramovich's megabucks. Less so now, partly as Lampard seems a decent bloke. As with Cov, you just have to laugh at the Gooners - & ignore the Spurs.
HighPeakFox Posted 26 December 2019 Posted 26 December 2019 Another thread about hating? I'll pass. I love Leicester, will that do?
bovril Posted 26 December 2019 Posted 26 December 2019 West Ham - The stadium move. The 'academy' bullshit. "We won the World Cup in 1966" East end Danny Dyer wannabes Porn barons Di Canio was a fascist Undeserved superiority complex

Vince Vega Posted 26 December 2019 Posted 26 December 2019 I hate dirty Leeds and dread the thought of them getting promoted and bringing their racist fans to the KP.
Stoopid Posted 26 December 2019 Posted 26 December 2019 Probably says a lot about my inadequacies, but I find my dislikes as strong as ever, despite my veteran status; Everton - not sure why, they just rub me up the wrong way, also got involved in a nasty skirmish with some of their fans at Filbert Street once. Burnley - think it's the Sean Dyche factor. His last honest man standing posturing annoys me. Millwall & Tottenham - no explanation needed... That's it really. Forest leave me cold these days though I grew up in an era when they were Public Enemy No 1. Derby? Who cares? Cov? If anything I quite admire the hardy souls who have stood by while their club has been dismantled. Liverpool? Bit of a cliché-ridden lot (like the city they represent). Slightly annoying, but for the most part almost beyond parody. Oh, and Leeds of course - because of Revie, Bremner etc. (Anyone who lived through the 70s will know what I mean...)
Hammo Posted 26 December 2019 Posted 26 December 2019 Any club (and set of fans) that for some reason promote themselves as ‘special’ (i.e. inherently superior to others). So obviously Liverpool and Celtic. And in Europe, Barcelona.

LaCiudad Posted 26 December 2019 Posted 26 December 2019 Spurs and Arsenal for the pure arrogant swagger and the media love in despite reality. Man City for the blood money they pay for the mercenaries.

Matt Posted 26 December 2019 Posted 26 December 2019 Got quite a few really but off the top of my head the main ones are Villa and Liverpool - For the same reasons - Their fans. Idiots who are above their stations, Liverpool more so because of the Glory hunter following. I used to hate Coventry but well, they're just abit irrelevant nowadays - Would love an FA Cup tie against them to ignite it abit again. I used to hate Arsenal mainly down to all the creaming over them, "the way to play football" cliches started back then and Wenger, but well, it's just funny now. Again the glory hunting element used to make me dislike them but they've all been seen for what they really are. Out of all the 'top' teams I used to 'like' Man Utd the most but since their decline i've started to massively dislike them and revel in it, mainly because of their (The club and fans) attitute towards the whole situation, their fans being seen for what they really are - the Glory hunting turncoats and why oh why any player with anything about them would go there in the current state. The 'It's Man Utd' factor won't wash for much longer, surely.
Stadt Posted 26 December 2019 Posted 26 December 2019 Forest, Derby, Cov and Liverpool. Dislike most teams though.
Tielemans63 Posted 26 December 2019 Posted 26 December 2019 Don't hate any team but dislike Chelsea, Cardiff and Millwall in particular. A group of us went to games in the late 90s when we were teenagers and a couple of my mates suffered the most disgusting racist abuse from their 'fans'. Cardiff fans were the worst, they were full on squaring up to a few of the lads for daring to have a different colour skin tone.
Guest Manini Posted 26 December 2019 Posted 26 December 2019 Not many I’d say I like really, only really “hate” United, Arsenal and Cov though. Birmingham City I also really dislike. Grown to like Leeds since moving here - they are a proper football club and their fans are fairly easy going despite their reputation. I’m not a huge fan of Liverpool, don’t really like Everton, Man City are just a bunch of weirdos and Spurs are just Spurs - irrelevant. Chelsea are a strange football club, their fans are awful and they basically ruined football with their spending but they’re probably my ‘favourite’ out of the so called English elite est. 2004
