Dan Gliballs Posted 23 January 2020 Posted 23 January 2020 Remember that time we nearly signed Jermaine Beck..... actually never mind.

And to think FoxesTalk wasted an entire day following Vichai's jet across the Atlantic in the hope that it would pick Aranguiz up, instead of flying to it's annual ****ing MOT.
ScouseFox Posted 23 January 2020 Posted 23 January 2020 a better thread would be players who massively regret joining us. there must be thousands.

His career literally went downhill after that season and we ended up buying Beckford!
49er Posted 6 April 2020 Posted 6 April 2020 Didn’t we try to sign William Carvalho at the same time as Slimani?
49er Posted 6 April 2020 Posted 6 April 2020 In the seventies: John Toshack Allan Hunter Alan Beer (signed Lanier Robertson instead)

dayday Posted 6 April 2020 Posted 6 April 2020 I remember reading a piece about Bryan Hamilton and he tried to sign Gary Pallister but Shipman wouldn’t go another £10k Middlesbrough was asking for, what signing he would of been.

See his loyality lasted about 48 hours. Sven suffered a lot of down turns while he was manager even with the money he had.

My recollection was that it was Nigel Pearson who was our Manager at the time of our Billy Sharp bid. And also the transfer fee would have been in the region of £2m to £2.5m.

Hard to be arsed about that after the last few years, mind. Regardless of what people think happened with Curtis Davies, he's an absolute class act of a bloke.

Also didn't he only move to Birmingham because it was a permanent transfer, which is probably the sensible option (could be making that up)
tom27111 Posted 7 April 2020 Posted 7 April 2020 Jason McAteer was very close to signing under O'Neill.

As in, we actually announced it officially, Adams had a presser about it, all sorts. Then it was scrapped for whatever reason and he went to Tranmere.
Dan Posted 7 April 2020 Posted 7 April 2020 Didn't we want Ousmane Dembele before he went to Dortmund?

messerschmitt Posted 7 April 2020 Posted 7 April 2020 We spoke to Robbie Fowler at one stage, but decided not to take it any further.
