What is this disrespect...

"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."

Just read that the European Cricket League is back for a second edition!

They have decided to introduce the English club T20 champions to it as well, but 15 teams from 16 countries is some effort; the quality will be mixed however. It looks like the owners have done some deal with an Indian 'fantasy' league website which means it will get tons of streaming hits.

Well they can. I guess they had no idea a storm would come and ruin it all?!

Sorry But at this level, it would be prudent,even a must....To  have Reserve days..for Semi-finals & final...Its a world-cup..!!!?

If it was the longer game, more understandable ..perhaps..!!

Well done to the Aussies for winning the 20/20...almost 90000 watching them do it, amazing!

Absolutely smashed it.

Felt sorry for Shafali Verma - could tell there was a lot of pressure on her. She's only 16! What a tournament she had though.

A Bit delayed..but!!!

sorry we are talking here about known Variant Weather conditions in Australia,at this time of the year....

At the Top Level of a World event, that in 2020,should be recognising,

#the "athletes" who have at least a years Stress of Building up to their targeted event!!

#Trying to sell und push  the Event around the World to Women, and young girl prospects..

# Then obviously would be supporters and sponsorships.

IMO that Not having Reserve-day for both semi-finals and final  ( nothing to do with cant!!!) Is poor ,pathetic Organisation, and lacking Any forethought and actual respect towards players and tournament.... It nullifies and dumbs down the competitive spirit...!!! Neuutral and Bias supporters Alike Left in nomansland.

Endangers by default ,any new even traditional  potential needed sponsorship...!!

Imagine my shock the ECB are planning to prioritise The Hundred over the Championship if we get any cricket this summer. That cash had better get to where it's needed (assuming it actually materialises).

Playing behind closed doors was mentioned earlier. Not ideal at all. I know the 4 day game is watched by about a dozen retired fellas but the short game is all about the razzmatazz and atmosphere produced by public involvement.

George Dobell reporting The Hundred may now never even see the light of day:

By the time the 2021 season starts, the ECB are likely to be short of money and have a new chairman at the helm. A review into the competition's sustainability and necessity is likely. Not playing it could save around £35m a year (the costs of running the competition before the annual payment of £1.3m to each of the counties): it could be seen as a luxury the game can no longer afford.

Supporters of the Hundred would point out that the competition is projected to bring in £51m, which includes £36.5m from the home broadcast deal, £4m from the overseas broadcast deal, £6.5m from ticket sales and £4m from sponsorship, against those overall costs of £58m in the first year. Without those revenue streams, the overall saving might be more like £7m a year.

Any fresh news on the West Indies tour? Got money tied up in tickets and I've heard nothing once again. It's only about 7 weeks away now too.

I'm in the same boat. Think I read it was going to be officially postponed tomorrow.

We all knew the Hundred is a terrible idea but the ECB wouldn't listen. Thankfully ol' mother nature intervened and it's been pushed back to 2021.

They really should take this opportunity to just save face and scrap it completely. They won't though.

It would've got decent crowds and curious interest for a game or two. Then died on its arse.

A dreadful idea.

Just bring back the Sunday league. The answer is so simple but unsexy and doesn't favour Notts over us Derby and Northampton
