I'm not quite sure people grasp how important the Champions League qualification is to us.

You can harp on all you like about how we won't sell players. But Champions League this season buys us another year of Ricky P, Wilf and Soyuncu and to some extent Chilwell.

Granted they might not all leave, but not getting into the Champions League would mean one of two out of them definitely would.

We're not talking about losing them to Prem teams here either, or having to persuade them we've got more to offer than another Prem team, I've honestly never seen two defender more suited to Barcelona than Ricky and Soyuncu.... and they both play in positions that Barca need to strengthen.

Champions League next year also means we can sign their replacements THIS summer. Rather than losing them and having to replace and bed in brand new players. With Champions League we can attract the quality required to replace two players like that. Although I really don't think we'll see a right back is good as Ricky at the KP again for a long long time.

Didn't work out like that last time we were in the CL. Kante left us for a non CL side and the players we signed are gone now.

Do you honestly think Ricardo and Soyuncu would turn down Barcelona just because we'd qualified?

An FA Cup win would normally be a trip to Wembley (or two) and is an actual trophy (one we haven’t won).

We’d also need to beat some good teams to get there.

But without CL we are vulnerable to losing our best players, Ricardo, N’didi possibly Madders and Chilwell (I know both are not in top form).

Totally agree on this. If barca or real come calling who would turn it down? CL or not if offered the chance to play for one of the best teams around at double or treble wages, and everything else that goes with it they would be gone no doubt.

Winning the FA Cup gives you a Europa league spot, but the champions league is the holy grail for our club in terms of finances and to be able to compete with the best.

I would take an FA cup win and no European qualification, I know that's not possible, but to win the FA cup for the first time in our 136 year history would be special, even with no fans present!

All our local rivals have won the FA cup, albeit not within the last 30 years, but their clubs are still on the base of the trophy.

Despite the lack of appreciation the FA cup is given in the modern era, it is still dominated by the big clubs and for clubs like ours it is still the holy grail.

As someone once said there isn't a trophy for finishing in the top 4 and no one will remember you for it really!

No one would remember us for finishing top 4 but no Leicester fan would forget seeing us in the Champions League again.

When we were in The Championship I used to think the Champions League was an over-hyped money spinner. But memories of seeing Leicester in Madrid, Copenhagen, Porto, Seville and Bruges will last a lifetime and the sense of occasion makes it such a buzz for match-going fans.

We’ve had over a hundred opportunities to win the FA Cup and will get one hundred more. I’m not sure we’ll ever get an opportunity this good at the Champions League again. The income it would bring would also stand us in such better stead for years to come so that we can consistently be in and around the latter stages of the FA Cup.

It has to be Champions League as the only option right now as much as I’d love to see us win the FA Cup.

Would we have to go through pre qualifying if we finish 4th ? On current form  I’m not too sure that we’d best a Linfield or Trabzonspor type team to get to the group stages.

That said, the Champions League matches gave me a buzz more than expected so going to those  (if then possible) would be preferable to  seeing us win the FA cup in an empty stadium

..straight in, no more pre-qualification!!!

The only drawback would be we would be in potentially the hardest group to play in.

Would 100% take an fa cup win over being a 4th seeded CL team getting handed by Dortmund and Real and ending up in the Europa league anyway given we probably won’t even be able to attend the games.

Who cares about the FA cup now we can't even have a day out?

Play the kids, get some bloody points in the league, wolves are catching us now, Chelsea have caught us.

Pereira out until October, won’t be going anywhere as he won’t pass a medical.

Don't think finishing 4th means you have to qualify anymore.

So so sick of the Lockdown and need city to provide the feel good factor. 2020 has been pants so far! Other than Ricky we have no injuries. Everyone is well rested. Everyone has shown they have talent and can make an impact. The team are in a bit of a malaise. They need an almighty kick up the arse. Rogers is not doing it so I hope Top makes a special visit to the training ground to remind them all who they are. It’s all in our hands now we can just give up and surrender everything to the teams below us or we find the fire and will to fight till the end and I don’t just mean kasper, Evans and cags bug the whole team. The come back starts tomorrow with lumpards chelski.

I'm still confident we will pick up enough points to finish 3, can actually see us and Man U playing out a draw on the last day to finish 3rd and 4th.

Because Chelsea are going to disappear?

group isnt affected by 2nd to 4th, so that would be same if go there in 3rd.  Only winning the league helps, as it gets the club in the best pot.

Nope, but I think we can turn are form around!

Sometimes you have to keep the faith!

My query wasn't necessarily about us and losing faith in us. It's just that Chelsea are behind us and are playing well and winning games, but you assume manure will take Chelsea's place? Honestly with all the faith and love I have for our team we have to be a bit realistic and say there is a strong chance that Chelsea with their current form will go above us but I do think we can still keep 4th place. Regardless of what happens this evening by the way.

Mainly due to Chelsea having a harder run in, I think what ever happens its going to be tight, we need to find a way of taking 12 points form are last 7 games.

We respect to finish 6 and winning the FA cup, I'd pick the cup all day. I feel like we have complete football if we do, the League Title, FA Cup and League Cup done.

Football is about winning trophies, yes players want to play in the CL, but they also want to win things.
