Fair enough ask him to move, but he got the right hump about it. Needed to just move on and shut up once the ref had stepped in and told Clarke to sit down when he could.

Out of all that; McGill was in the wrong, I’m sure Clarke didn’t intentional stand in the line of the shot. He moved when asked

McGill threw a strop probably because he was losing; however the points he made were well in the rights. Clarke should either stand behind him or be seated, that’s common sportsmanship of Snooker. Referees always stand behind players because it’s the ruling, players should do the same, so I’m not surprised McGill got annoyed.

Later in the match, the clip hasn’t been put up, but Clarke supposedly told McGill to go and sit down, when McGill was standing behind him which is of course allowed.

You don’t piss off a Scotsman.

Tomorrow will be interesting, I want it to get more spicy like Hann vs Hicks lol

Everyone knows the rules. The issue wasn't that McGill complained, it was that he continued to go on about it, even following him out the arena after the frame. People make mistakes, even professional sportsmen. It was sorted straight away and McGill should have left it at that. You can guarantee if he wasn't miles behind at the time he wouldn't have kept mentioning it.

He called it out, fair enough. He then chased him down when he went for a piss, came back and continued to harrang the ref about. Just seem a little OTT.

Of course not.

McGill came across as a mardy b*****d.

Clarke needs a lesson on Sportsmanship, doesn’t matter if the Crucible is small, you either stand behind your opponent or sit down, everyone knows that.

But anyway, a pissed off McGill clearly is a dangerous McGill, nicely poised going into tonight.

What did he say?

When asked if he was relieved to win he just waffled on about not being bothered. Didn't feel he played well because his mind wanders, but also said he's good at switching off his mind to other things in the arena :dunno:. Glad the fans aren't there because he hates being asked for autographs outside, but misses them in arena. Then when asked if he though after first meeting in 1994 of he thought him and Mark Williams would still be competing at this level and he said back then he wouldn't, but now its no surprise as most the young players are shit.

Basically how it was much more relaxed without the fans, that he could get in and out of the venue much more easily, and he enjoyed it more because when the fans were there it could be a nightmare two weeks.

The BBC might put his interview up by tomorrow.

If there is anyone allowed to question the standard of young players today, it is him. I think he is right just maybe he could have toned it down a bit lol

Its not just those comments, it the constant whinging. "Don't wanna play" "Wish I'd never played the game" etc. Well just stop then, he's a multimillionaire!

Also the first part of that interview that's not shown. Christ, sounds like he's had a lobotomy! Its barely coherent, waffling on contradicting himself.

The thing with Ronnie is, he’s that good. What he’s saying isn’t really all that far off the truth? If he had a head like Hendry he’d have 10 world titles now.  The last young lad to come through and do well in the game was Trump. And he only won his first world last year.

There’s so many tournaments and so many players, anyone can beat anyone unless they’re playing the top 5/6 in the world, especially over a best of 7.

Ronnie said it a few years back, it’s all about the mentality and hardly any of them have it. Hendry had it, Higgins, Williams, Selby, Robertson & now Trump have it, along with Ronnie.

Ronnie, the best their has ever been, always honest when asked a question, yet always manages to come across as a bellend lol

Absolute box office but genuinely miss the days when Selby lived rent free in his head... Great days.
