What a fvck up from Clarke, if he comes through this after that, then fair play to him.

McGill was completely out of it and Clarke looked so composed. And now you'd fancy McGill to take this final frame and win it 13-12.

That was one of the biggest chokes I’ve seen in Snooker from Clarke.

Match ball missed, then messed up another great opportunity in the decider.

Some of the shots McGill has dished out though, in both his deciders have been class, that Snooker behind the brown tonight was brutal.

The thing with Ronnie is, he’s that good. What he’s saying isn’t really all that far off the truth? If he had a head like Hendry he’d have 10 world titles now.  The last young lad to come through and do well in the game was Trump. And he only won his first world last year.

There’s so many tournaments and so many players, anyone can beat anyone unless they’re playing the top 5/6 in the world, especially over a best of 7.

Ronnie said it a few years back, it’s all about the mentality and hardly any of them have it. Hendry had it, Higgins, Williams, Selby, Robertson & now Trump have it, along with Ronnie.

It's 100% the truth. Only have to have glanced at that McGill v Clarke game to see it. Maximum break between them over 25 frames was 70 something. 80% odd pot success rate for both of them. It will get passed off as "good drama" but the reality is they are both pretty crap, yet one of them is through to the last 8 of what's supposed to be the best tounament.

Meanwhile, Ronnie has been ambivalent towards the game for years and he regularly slaps down these young ones that probably eat sleep and shit snooker.

He probably shouldn't be saying what he's said, even if it's just for the good of the sport as a whole, but he isn't wrong. Not by a long shot.

Trump v Wilson into the 4th frame of the session whilst on the other table Selby and Robertson are still battling it out in the first frame lol gonna be attritional stuff that.

Selby takes the first, taking just over an hour. Go on Mark grind him down lad

Robbo will be relieved but bloody hell, people call Selby boring but when the going gets tough, Neil Robertson is the worst player to watch, 31 seconds a shot, dreadful.

Can be one of the most negative players at times. Look at his last match with Hawkins. Having said that it’s set up a decent evening session now.

I’ve seen him live a couple of times and of all the players I’ve seen, he is the one I’d happily not want to see again.

I've backed him too, prices were way off, wish I'd have managed to get 99/1 though!

I was just waiting on Mcgill yesterday. Never had such an up and down bet in my life. 8-2 down to then win 13-12.

Mark Williams played superbly this afternoon. I love his unorthodox shots. There was a one-handed snooker escape, a shot with the rest without holding it, and an inside-out shot with the butt of his cue in his ribs.
