Enjoyed this, more so than yesterdays Championship playoff really.

 

On that note, wasn't the Championship playoff always saved until the bank holiday Monday?

 

Doesn't really matter but it makes sense to work up through the leagues;

League Two - Saturday.

League One - Sunday.

Championship - Monday.

That was the chance there for Poole, not the player you want in that situation though.

It’s the Saturday in international tournament years because of releasing players

Gutted for Lincoln, incredible season for them but fell short at the final hurdle hope they can build on this and go again next season lots of loanees in the squad so will need replacing.

 

Nice though that it's a team like Blackpool that have done it after all their supporters endured during the back end of the Oyston era.

Blackpool can forget their past ownership issues and look forward to a bright future knowing they have owners now who actually care about the club.

Newport should have had a penalty earlier. Keeper punched the Newport player like Ederson did to Iheanacho once. Nothing given.

I saw the back of the ref's head at the start of the second half, and said "self, that looks like Bobby Madley."

 

A couple of google searches confirmed that is actually is him!

On a separate subject, these playoff matches serve as a reminder of what English football is like without VAR.  My summation is, just about the same number of mistakes, without the agonizing waiting for a second decision.

Least can kind of accept one in real time than as you say another is made  by a 2nd official having several looks whilst  waiting for ages .
