StanSP Posted 7 August 2020 Posted 7 August 2020 For once I don't need my glasses to read a post. Thanks @davieG
Brainy Posted 7 August 2020 Posted 7 August 2020 All deserved including Rodgers. If he shouldn't get in because of the 2nd half of the season then he should get in because of the first half. It balances itself out and still exceeded our targets
Matt Posted 7 August 2020 Posted 7 August 2020 Valid point about if Rodgers doesn't deserve it for the 2nd half of the season then he does for the 1st half, however it just hammers down the point even more about how poor the league has been and is when Rodgers is up for manager of the season.
Vacamion Posted 7 August 2020 Posted 7 August 2020 I like Brendan Rodgers. I admire his work. Leicester City is my team. But even I don't think he is Manager of the Season.

Don't really think anybody would argue he is, probably because our form taints things as opposed to having a more balanced season. It's fair enough he's named in the top 4 though
shailen Posted 7 August 2020 Posted 7 August 2020 It's such a shame about how we finished the season as if we got top 4, it would have changed everything, and we were one game away from doing that, and if we had I'm sure BR would be more deserving of the nomination. But he didn't and I don't think he should get it as a result.
HybridFox Posted 7 August 2020 Posted 7 August 2020 Couldn't bring myself to vote for Brendan. It still hurts

I do not know what it will take for you to once and for all accept that your theory is flawed, debunked and obviously incorrect. We finished 4 points behind Chelsea and Manchester United, how would another victory enable us to gain 4th? This is a theory you have.posted in numerous topics, it is clear to see that your musings are incorrect and yet you continue to make these claims,,,why!!!

Lol if we'd beaten United on the final day, we'd have got 3 more points and they'd have lost 3 points - swing of 6 points. All I'm saying is if we'd have beaten them BR would have been seen in a different light. I don't actually know what my theory is - I think we fell short and it was a bad collapse. Am I not allowed to repeat that point on here?
Aus Fox Posted 7 August 2020 Posted 7 August 2020 All three of our nominations come third in their category imo.
Oldblueyes Posted 8 August 2020 Posted 8 August 2020 Jamie will not be a good betting option due to the fact of the rebuff of the England selection even with the Golden Boot.. Harvey is a good player, but lately you wouldn't put your house on him when in a one on one situation to score, although his goal assists returns are excellent. The less said about the second half of the season with Rodgers, the better. Fingers crossed though.

Ashley Posted 8 August 2020 Posted 8 August 2020 Chrisy Wilder for manager of the Season. Anything other than him is incorrect.
Tom12345 Posted 8 August 2020 Posted 8 August 2020 Klopp has to be manager of the season. What he has done is nothing short of incredible, especially when you compared the resources he had against Man City. Young Player of the Season: Trent Alexander-Arnold. He is an absolute gem.
volpeazzurro Posted 8 August 2020 Posted 8 August 2020 At some so called 'bigger' clubs, such a dramatic slide in form would have led to Rodgers being sacked. Not because of the eventual final landing position in the table, but more the worry of the prospects of the following season and understandably so. Sometimes a league position can mask a multitude of sins, remember Puel at Southampton with a decent league position and cup final? Sarri just sacked as Juventus manager after winning the Serie A title and latter stages of the Champions League? We of course don't have the pulling power of the 'bigger' teams so have to perhaps be a little more circumspect about hiring and firing, it can't be easy. Disregarding if we can for a moment, our final position in the table, Rodgers own personal performance over the entire season with the squad he had was mediocre in my opinion. You should never reward mediocrity with an award or it could become the acceptable norm.

Akin to comparing Bill Gates’ resources to Jeff Bezos’?
Stadt Posted 8 August 2020 Posted 8 August 2020 Suppose they have to make up the numbers with the nominations but Lampard doesn’t deserve to be there.

I couldn’t quite decide on the order of my top 4. Brendan did do brilliantly for large parts of the season, but in the end as a tribute to his fine work I ended up putting him 5th
