I once woke up one morning after a night out in Mosh with an old pram in my bedroom. Thankfully a child wasn't included.

 

Picked up an odd pentagonal coin holder with £5 in it in a field somewhere near Loughborough when I was about 8. Bought myself sweets for weeks with it.

 

Found a full baggie of weed on the street in Market Harborough once, too.

Once in Kos in 2003 me and a mate found a purse. No obvious way to identify but there was a sim card which we put into the phone, found the name 'mum' so text them to explain.

Eventually arranged to meet the lass and her fella in a bar to reunite them with the purse and it felt very rewarding to have helped out.

 

Later found out they had some 'muscle' arranged in the bar in case we were some kind of thieves/scammers!!!

It's something I've never really understood. It was so commonplace. I remember as kids we once found someone's entire collection stuffed in a tree trunk.

 

Like, why weren't these dudes just keeping them at home? Was it normal in the 80's & 90's to be just out having a tug in the bushes?

I remember, quite a few years ago, I started to get really annoyed at how many of those little red rubber bands postmen would use that I would find lying everywhere, so I started picking them up. After an embarrassing amount of time doing it I made a rather impressive rubber band ball. The end goal was always to hand it in to the post office whilst complaining about postmen discarding them all over the place but I suppose I was so proud of the rubber ball I made that I never bothered.
