Can’t believe he’s been injured this long.

 

We are so lucky he got injured right before lockdown instead of in the middle of a full season.

The thought of having Ricardo down one side and Castagne down the other is so exciting. Teams knew they could let Chilwell have the ball 'cause he did naff all with it and as soon as they pressed him he turned and ran it back to the half way line. Now we have two wide players capable of playing a ball, and taking on their man. Exciting times ahead.

Whilst I get the excitement over Castagnes start, he is clearly a right footed player. In the same mould James Justin is. So I'm not sure it's as straight forward as assuming his game will mirror exactly that it does on the right for obvious reasons his body shape, preferred foot etc all has to adapt.

Hope he can of course but cut the bloke some slack if and when he does switch.

Could see Ricardo being the player moved to left back. 

Castagne seems to be better at crossing than Ricardo so could be better to have him on the right to whip in crosses and Ricardo on the left to cut inside more to dribble, shoot or play through balls.

Think it could work really well.

I have been wondering if this was the plan, because if Castagne's gonna end up on the left, why not put him straight in there instead of moving JJ? Otherwise Castagne is getting settled in at RB only to end up swapping him to LB.

Ffs, Chilwell again. He also offered a lot of strengths as a LB. He was still developing - was in many ways an asset to our squad and should be remembered as such. He's gone now, can we just move on.  Honestly, it's like a stuck record...
