I'm not sure if anyone else has found this too but, 2 observations I've made so far from this years game:

  • VAR hasn't improved from last season. VAR Checks on potential offsides on a goal will always come back as disallowed for offside, VAR checks on fouls in the box will always come back as a penalty, and VAR checks on whether a foul was just inside or outside the box will always come back as just outside.
  • Penalties - I've had 6 penalties so far in my current Leicester save, all 6 have missed the target (4 for Vardy, 2 For Maddison). anyone else struggling to even hit the target from penalties, let alone score from them>>

At Newcastle.... takeover tug of war is between Owen Oyston's daughter.... or a bloke from Sunderland who used to own Port Vale... **** me I think i'd rather stick with Mike Ashley lol

Why is the switch locked down to the maximum for. You can have custom graphics for your phone and tablets but the switch you cant.

Makes the game so much more enjoyable having them on for me.

Early impressions, i like the switch version... felt abit clunky at the start with getting used to the menus etc and what buttons to use.

I like this game but i hate my brain, started the new save ,made a few signings ,got 2 wins in my first 3 games then decided i was over staffed and wanted to try to not run the club into ridiculour debt. so now im gonna start another save with the aim of being as realistic with my staff and payer signings as possible, and even better, be profitable lol
why do i do this

To be honest, I'm kinda the same.

I'm in my third season, have a team that includes Neres, Dan James, Gabriel Jesus, Belotti, Tonali, Tierney, Gabriel, Lookman and I'm just not invested as I know it's completely unrealistic.

About to start second season with Newcastle after finishing 5th first up. Bit annoyed, was second for quite a while then had a dip in the middle :(

Managed to clear out most of the dross, but was pleasantly surprised by the likes of Longstaff and Hayden who were excellent in the first season.

First season signings: Yusuf Yazici; Perr Schurrs, Edouard (board takeover signing), Winks (loan), Josef Martinez.

Second season signings: Koopmeiners, Hateboer, Tsimikas, Szoboszlai, Bergwijn (Loan), Antony... looking to add a CB before the deadline.

Be nice to have a good run in the Europa and try to finish top 4 this time round! As a few others have mentioned, strikers seem to have been super charged in this version and Callum Wilson is incredible lol

I've just won the Premier for the 22nd season in a row with Lutterworth Town.

We retained the Champions League too, beating Real Madrid 13-0 in the final.

Once again Daniel Lambert top scored with 62 goals, and ace keeper King Richard III conceded just 16 league goals all season. Sue Townsend made her record breaking 900th appearance for the club.

The game's been out for less than a month. Are you playing 24/7 or have you gone on holiday for most of that? :sweating:

I'd be surprised if I've played more than 30-40 seasons since FM05 lol

Just signed King Richard III for my Leicester team, cheers for the recommendation.

Haven't played this for a while, might jump back into a National League North/South side.

Does anyone else feel this year it’s a bit easier?

My first season with Solihull Moors saw me reach the fifth round of the FA cup beating Blackburn and Forest on the way, to then go on and win the league by about 10 points. My first 8 games in league 2 and I’ve won them all, beating some of the better teams in the league too.

Shhhh don't spoil my fun lol

I wouldn't say it's easier, I think what's actually happened is the match engine is responding so much better to how people want their tactics to be (i.e what they're seeing on the tv week in week out)

It all just seems a lot more intuitive, players in the right positions, formations seeming more flexible attack vs defence.... I think if you're normally good at this game then you're going to be very good this year.

Anyone had the 'X coach is assigned to too many categories' backroom advice?
I always used to have specialist coaches and then have some extra generalist coaches (or other backroom staff not good at coaching) to bring the workload down to 'light'. But now I get the above feedback. Anyone know if it has a detrimental effect? Cannot seem to find anything on the SIgames forums.

The point being I'm using the same coach, i.e. Beaglehole to cover a lot of categories in order to bring the overall workload down to light. I don't have enouch staff spaces to employ 2-3 specialists per training category.

That's pretty much how I feel about it. I've definitely found this one a little easier, though had my usual poor Leicester save so maybe that's the one to overcome.
