Yeah another useless puel signing like Ricardo, Tilemans, Soyoncu, Maddison, Evans.....

Wait a minute!!!

Are you seriously suggesting Puel was responsible for the above listed player's and not via long term analysis by our recruitment team?!  Stop giving Puel responsibility via the revisionism in your head for the player's he clearly had no real input in.

Possibly Ricardo, but jeez

Puel isn’t in charge of signings, so perhaps we should also just stop blaming managers for bad signings when we have a recruitment team, head of recruitment and director of football who have their input on them and one specifically can say no to singing any player.

Are you seriously suggesting that the club signed 7 players for huge money at the time with no input or consultation with the then first team manager?

There is a lot of naivety around this. Player recruitment is a collaborative process Marcia and Puel and possibly Rudkin would be in communication every day during the transfer window. Shortlists would be drawn up alternate targets discussed. The players don't just arrive at the training ground and the manager has to accodate them. You can't pick and choose which players you give credit to whom for. Recruitment during Puels time was excellent though there is no arguing that.

Oh and Ricardo mentioned puel as a reason why he came in his first interview so even you might have to conceded that.

The thread title would have been so much better if another club had put in a large, late bid to snatch him from Beskitas....

"Ghezzal Gazumped"

I could've been a Sun sports journalist, Mum, honest.....I could've been a contender.

Ghezzal is a unique player. Never seen a player with such a horrendous second touch. Seemed to regularly control it beautifully first time and then inevitably knock it 4 yards ahead of himself with his second touch. Bizarre.

The guy's agent is a miracle worker because this lad is a League 1-level player.

I am not sure we gave him a fair crack. Some rare good goals including Newport: where despair was lifted for all of 3 minutes until their penalty!

He was skilful but didn’t have the skill level to counter his physical weaknesses unlike Mahrez.

Besiktas Looking To Sit Down With Leicester City Over Keeping Winger

Turkish giants Besiktas are looking to make Leicester City winger Rachid Ghezzal’s loan stint permanent, it has been claimed in Turkey.

The Algerian is currently plying his trade in Turkey at Super Lig outfit Besiktas on a season-long loan spell from Premier League side Leicester, and has already caught the eye.

Ghezzal has started Besiktas’ last five league games in a row and is increasingly establishing himself as a regular in Sergen Yalcin’s squad this season.

Besiktas are firmly impressed with Ghezzal’s performances on the pitch and are now exploring the possibility of permanently adding the winger to the squad.

According to Turkish outlet En Son Haber, Besiktas president Ahmet Nur Cebi is keen on sitting at the negotiating table with Ghezzal’s parent club Leicester, who would likely be willing to let the player go for the right price.

Ghezzal does not have a purchase option in his contract and is set to return to the Midlands club at the end of the current campaign, but Besiktas are keen on keeping him.

Leicester snapped the 28-year-old up from French giants Monaco in the summer of 2018 and he spent last term on loan at Italian side Fiorentina.

Ghezzal has made 23 appearances for Leicester in all competitions but is currently spending a second consecutive season shipped off on loan.

Controversial opinion maybe, but I reckon he was at least as good as Perez (though maybe that says more about my opinon of Perez than Ghezzal). We barely got to see him though - he got 1000 minutes in all competitions, so about 11 games worth - and he played for Puel, which doesn't help.

Still wasn't good enough though, so if we can get any money for him, then I'm sure we'll snap their hand off.
