Wilf is in but will miss all games due to his injury. Would it not have been better to free up a space for someone else? 

 

Surprised there's no Gray, just in case.

they must think he'll be fit before the group games are over, then we submit a new squad the knockouts dont we?

Gray not being included speaks volumes about our confidence in him.

 

Shame not to see Luke Thomas not involved but those positions are heavily covered luckily, with Ricardo coming back. Hope we'll see him involved in the PL at some point.

 

Brilliant to see KDH included too. Really want to see more of him.

As @moore_94 says in the 25 man squad thread, the B list doesn't have to be submitted until 20 October. If Thomas doesn't get a loan he will be on it.

Some interesting tidbits from that:

 

- No Luke Thomas. We haven't seen him in the league either so that suggests his development isn't as far along as we thought last season. But no loan move yet.

- No Gray at all is savage, especially with KDH getting the nod instead. With the PL window closed that means at best he goes on loan to the Championship. I think he will have a handful of appearances at best this season and suggests his Leicester City career is essentially over.

- No Amartey seems harsh given Ndidi is included. Amartey did well in both games he's played so far even if he came off injured. I would have thought based on those games he might be part of our plans this season after all. I guess not.

Thomas is under 21 and academy trained, he will be named on the B list when that is due in a week or two, unless he goes on loan (unlikely IMO)

Maybe a move to championship club in the offing for Gray?

Thomas can be included as under age home grown (list B which does not need to be submitted yet - may see a couple of other u23 names on there too)

Thomas will be on B list 

 

Clubs are entitled to register an unlimited number of players on the B list during the season, but the list must be submitted by no later than midnight the day before a match.

 

What is a B list?

A player may be registered on the B List if he is born on, or after, 1 January 1998 and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday (players aged 16 may be submitted if they have been registered with the club for the previous two years).

Gray was obviously ("obviously" in that fan forum, I have no f'ing idea way) told to sign a new contract or find a new club -- If he doesn't play any games as he rides out a contract, someone'll take a punt on him, but I doubt he'll get a signing bonus.

 

Putting Jaku seems like a shot across the bow to Gray, Slimani, and surprisingly Armartey (injury must be really bad -- worse than Ndidi -- or with Fofana's arrival, he's better off with a loan.)

Yeah i think that's about the size of it with gray. I suspect (based on no evidence whatsoever, but this FT) we had some interest in him but he/his agents dug his heels in and wouldn't go for lower wages so is now reaping what he sowed. BR said after MC that Big Dan was definitely in his plans and there was no intention to let him go so, unless something has dramatically changed, it must be injury related.

I'd assume KDH is there because he's a 'Leicester trained' one for the quota, whereas DG just counts as homegrown and we have enough of those registered already (12 with 8 needed). The 4 needed for Leicester trained are KDH, Hamza, Harvey and then Thomas from the B list :) (that's also why it's a 24 man list)
