Doesn't sound good what happened in Edinburgh :(

5 people stabbed

Waiting for Farage and Robinson telling everybody about their concern for violence targeting the Muslim community.....

This is on people like them that take every opportunity to cause division and disorder.

I've been in Leeds, for the Womens Cricket T20 world cup, for a few days at Headingley.

Walked down Otley Road this afternoon on what was a boiling hot Saturday afto, and there were hundreds of young uns, doing The Otley Run.

A sign of my advancing years, perhaps, but I was sooooooooo glad they weren't going where I was heading.  lol

Rarely has so much bumcheek, cowboy hat and cokepupil been seen seen at  one time.

Also, what the hell is Other Black?

When AI creates mass "unemployment"... we going to need a whole new theory.

Why do people get so defensive and angry when talking about the possibility of climate change being real?

Always found it a bit odd

People don't like being told things by people that know better. It's not just this topic it's a society wide thing.

Arguing with thermometers.

Science communication is a damned tricky thing right now, and this is one of the key reasons why.

The "deficit model" of communication is clearly ineffective, so other methods have to be used.

That all being said, as time ticks by I am growing increasingly frustrated with people placing their own short term self interest over the future of our entire civilisation, species, and life on Earth in general.

NB. Feel free to contribute in the dedicated CC thread if you want to.

Yep. People don't like being told that their behaviour causes problems and needs to change

... and that then becomes their problem and their responsibility when things go horribly sideways.

Which it will. And may be already, in at least some places.

The American happy clappers are far less clappy and happy than our lot. The MAGA base has wildly split. They have designated Piers Morgan as a wokey, Trump hated republican Thomas Massie, Mark Levin and Ben Shapiro hate most of MAGA, Tucker Carlson is going all in on Trump.

It's much more fun than UK happy clappers who follow orders as soon as Farage and Tommy Wimpinson click their fingers and force the peasants onto the streets.

Maybe this new comedy show from Rupert Lowe will split them up.

I get a lot of what you’re saying but this happy clappers stuff…politically where the hell has this come from?

Is it a new thing nationally or just from this forum?

Id be more inclined to say that any happy clappers, politically would be from the left rather than the right😂.

Also…Peasants? 🤷‍♂️😂😂😂

On the left too for sure, but defo loads of happy clapper wokeys getting offended at innocuous things like council guidance on what to call an Easter egg on the right.

Yep would bet my mortgage Wimpinson and Farage believe anyone protesting on the streets in Soton etc is a peasant. The peasants do the work, the masters control them. Only peasants, halfwits and dullards would commit illegal acts on the streets to serve their masters purposes and gain nothing materially from it.

Whatever Tice/Farage/Zia/Lowe tells them to celebrate, and then immediately shift the goalposts.

What about if @splinterdream is more liberal or conservative? Do you know he and others support the centre right?

Or unhappy with the direction of government over the past 2 years. (Fully aware the previous few were also a mess)

Just to clear things up right away here, he has said as much in previous posts. (To say nothing of his posting history being reasonably obvious on that matter too.)

That being said, as per discussion had here before, the whole idea of political compassing is based on a really old French government structure that really doesn't hold up in this day and age imo. It's much more directly about self-interest-societal interest as an axis these days.

Congratulations.  :D Grandkids are great. Everyone says our youngest grandchild, who is 3, has me wrapped around his little finger.

They may well be right.

@Muzzy_no7

My politics are based on wanting a safe prosperous British future for my daughter, and others like her, but also others that have had a crap time at home and at school as a child. My reading of history and communism also has a factor on my political views.

My views have been formed by over 30 years of working in the homes of the british public, from some of the wealthiest, to those on the council estates of Leicester and Melton, but also having a keen interest in politics.

I dont like Farage and Tice, i think they're untrustworthy and too incompetent.

Lowe is doing a good thing with the rape gang inquiry, but I dont agree with what else is going on with Restore. The one person who seems to be talking the most sense, is Kemi, but feel the Tories have no chance getting in. I also hear some good things from Labour MP's like Karl Turner or Graham Stringer.

I voted Blair which was the first and last time i ever voted Labour. I'm a Conservative but they would be the first to admit they made an absolute mess of the Country and not sure i could ever trust them again.

I want a colour blind Country, where british values and traditional heritage and the british people come first. I despise DEI, critical gender and critical race theory, and the idiocy that has infected this country which seeks to encourage people to hate Britain and british history without having any understanding of historical context

I hope Burnham makes the decisions needed to make Britain great again, but I doubt it.

If theres a general election...

I am currently, politically, none of the above.

Appreciate the elaboration.

Again, I would say that it does help show that standard political compassing is rather passe these days.
