there was a pitch invasion?? lol

Yep lol, couple of lads in front of me got hit in the face by coins as well, had a massive gash above his eye.

then they kept us locked in the car park for about 45 minutes after FT, then the coaches drove straight through the centre, where all their fans were in the pubs, started throwing stuff at the coaches and I’m sure a couple of windows got smashed.

Was a day to forget haha

That was like a children's party compared to when they beat us 2-0 in the Cup on a Monday night in the 80's at Cold Blow Lane.

Seem to recall we were kept in the ground for about an hour after the game finished & the coaches had to take about a 20 mile detour to avoid all the ambushes down the side streets

Chilwell giving throw ins to Benny because he couldn’t hack the abuse...

on reflection given this stupid European league  nonsense being discussed - how good is it that League 1 Millwall can rock the champions of England like that just because they’ve got a nasty atmosphere. Love it.

I hate Millwall fans. I was living in New Cross Gate when we played them in 1996. I walked to the ground and back, which was a bit stupid, wearing a hat with a small  Leicester badge on it. On of them noticed it, squared up to me and literally put the tip of his nose on mine daring me to do something. It was a very awkward moment of 'chicken'. Then he walked off. What a knob!

A few years later they got done in the last minute of an important game, might have been a play off and I tried to commiserate with a sad looking fan in a newsagents, saying something like, "Bad luck mate, been there". He told me to **** off and screamed at me, "YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M FEELING YOU C*NT!". Charming bunch.

Absolutely hideous day that was, the day I knew Ranieri had to go.

Got to love a trip to Millwall though, really is like both stepping back in time and into an alternate Universe, like being in an episode of Doctor Who. Kids wearing flat caps, obese blokes doing the w4nker sign at you, teenagers with fags in their mouths as if they were toothpicks, women with very few teeth dancing around and screeching at you, and that's just the corner on the left closest to the away fans.

You've got to miss it all though haven't you. Going the game feels like such a distant memory now.

I was near to where that video was shot, just to the right.

Awful day. I knew Ranieri had to go then.

They weren't even top 10 in League 1 at that point.

I know. It was gutting. Really thought we might have had a chance of winning it that year.

Also, hardly a low point is it? We've sunk much lower than that lol

True. I remember watching Leicester v Cheltenham at our place when we had about 8000 in. It was so depressing. May we never be there again!

Just under 19,000. In fact I think our average League 1 attendance was well over 20,000.

Didn't go to this match but was at the FA Cup tie there a few years later in 1991. We were leading 1-0 until two late red cards for us. Two very late goals in a couple of minutes sent them through 2-1.

I can remember the chant in our end changing almost immediately from "will you come to Filbert Street" when they equalised to "we'll support you ever more" as their winner went in straight after.

Even though their fans were celebrating victory it was very hostile leaving the ground and made me wonder what it would've been like had we won.

It was a crap day but it probably wouldn't even make my top 10 lowest days lol

Probably something to do with me going to every game when we were shit but only a handful since we've got good.

Found this on my phone last night. The only silver lining from that day is that in and amongst our fans we've never had a 'string vest man'. Or have we?! lol

Hope all is well with you mate.

That was more entertaining than any actual football that day thats for sure. The 'Who's the wan ker in the cap?' 'He's going to cry in a minute' chants deserve a special mention too.

Actually ended up going to Millwall v Swansea a couple of seasons ago in the home end with some Canadians friends and their partners who wanted a premier league experience but couldnt get tickets for the bigger clubs. They were deservedly winning one nil until the 85th minute and then conceded two late goals against the run of play to lose 2-1. Atmosphere was hilarious, the chavs in the rows behind us were at their cockney swearing best and one of them almost broke his seat by repeatedly punching it. The total Millwall experience for North Americans who told us that if you swear at an NHL match you'll probably get kicked out.

Kind of made up for our cup defeat in that video.

Hey Nalis! Hope all is well with you too!

You took your Canadian friend to Millwall to give them a taste of what Premier League football might be like? I just love your sense of humour!

They won't forget that I'm sure lol
