Anyone use Premium? I watch considerably more YT than Netflix, Disney or other services yet it feels dirty to pay so haven't yet stumped up. Considering how many ads there now are I'm close though (guess that's their plan). Apparently they contect creators get a significantly greater amount of revenue from premium subscribers too which is nice.

The ads have doubled recently and are more frequent. They also seem to be chuckling more non skipable ones in.It’s tempting to upgrade like you said.

Guessing you follow Critikal? His commentary on the Cooking With Jack videos was hilarious, and it's because of him I watch Ordinary Sausage too. Shame his recent videos/music attempts are nowhere near as good as his old stuff

Jack's been a meme on certain places of the internet for a few years now. Not a fan of Critikal to be honest, another personality who just finds people freely making a tits of themselves online and then proceeds to take them to pieces from his high horse, whilst looking disheveled & grotty in his bedroom slouched in a gaming chair. Never really liked H3H3 for the moral high ground taking videos either.

I usually just use YouTube to play podcasts and clips with the screen off while I'm doing stuff around the house. Voices of the Past is quite good along with Mark Felton Productions for the history stuff. John Michael Godier for space stuff, although he can be a tad too sci-fi sometimes.

I'll watch a bit of everything, so what about watching a grown man pick apart tough Mario Maker levels?:

or maybe 2 guys doing pokemon battles with a twist:

Or an old favourite

And sensible political discussion

Been watching Jelles marble runs too. My favourite are the courses on sand, a lot more unpredictable.

I listen to most of my music through YouTube. It's brilliant for suggesting new things that I'd never get to hear anywhere else - there's a lot of incredible music out there from around the world. Current favs found through YouTube are Newen Afrobeat, The Spy from Cairo, and Khruangbin.

I really like random travel videos. There’s a guy who tries to walk in a literal straight line across a country, if there is a river he walks through, someone’s house or farm he trespasses etc.

my guilty pleasure is news bloopers.

Do you know the name of his you tube channel the person who tries to walk in a straight line.

Fair enough, I used to really like Critikal when it was the odd funny video or commentary, or the infomercial pisstakes but his recent stuff is much more grinding and moaning. I've not really paid much attention to H3 recently and am aware he/they have had a few public spats with other YouTubers, but they've put out some great videos in the past

Ashens is another one I used to like, but it's the same thing over and over now so never bother watching anymore

Ones I really like currently:

- Matt McMuscles - very funny dude who does short game videos, and specialises in a series called "Wha Happun", which focuses on why particular highly anticipated games(/films) ended up as flops. Always funny, and no filler in his videos

- the Company Man. 10 minute videos focussing on rise-and-fall (or fall-and-rise) stories of businesses, usually American

- Decino, German (I think?) bloke who largely does run throughs of Doom maps. I'm not even into Doom but he just has a great voice

- YongYea for gaming news stories

- LGR does interesting stuff on old computing technology - again I'm not particularly into the subject but he seems a really likeable intelligent bloke and his videos are always interesting

- Physics Girl. She's a great presenter, and cute af

I want to include Tom Scott, as the content of his videos is almost always fascinating, or at least interesting, but I want to slap his face.

Sorry to go very football with it but Copa 90's Derby Days are (annoying Aussie host excused) up there with the most ideal content for me. More so the longer duration videos.

@Costock_Foxif you haven't already watch the Atalanta v Brescia doc

Just watching it now, haven’t got to the football yet but I can imagine what the crowd is like. Need to get back over there finally when this shite is over.

Didnt realise they give newborns Atalanta shirts in the hospital. Love that.

GeoWizard’s How Not to Travel Europe series is absolutely amazing. The idea is they try their hardest not to pay for any transport or accommodation, they rely on help from the odd subscriber or stranger but it’s surprisingly heart warming and just well entertaining

Awesome restorations on YouTube

If you want to watch something relaxing with no background music or talking.
In fact you don’t even see the guys face, just his hands.

He restores small items, lighters and tools etc that have been dug up.

Yea my description makes it sound terrible but it’s pretty chilled out in a kinda AMSR way

The results are also pretty impressive
