At least he wants to play for his club.

Id like to play for the club, especially on his wages. I could start against Man U if they like.

I actually was thinking he was okay, then he gave the ball away 5 seconds later (I’m sure it was him) in injury time almost gifting Chelsea a second.

That was our main man Wout

It is nice to hear that Luke Thomas had a good game and he is an option. However I just don't think playing several full backs rather than pure wingers is going to be any sort of answer when the club is so short of goals. The thinking presumably is that they can give some width and defend as well. But it is all too half hearted Leicester really need to have more than 3 attackers on the pitch.

The problem being that we do not have a set of pacey wingers available.

If we were capable of playing Mavididi and Fatawu either side of our striker, with El Khannouss or Buonanotte behind, with another pacey winger on the bench that can come on, then I'd agree.

Instead we have Ayew and Decordova-Reid, who's advantage is that they are apparently good at defensive hold up play, despite our defensive record being worse when they play, and we still score no goals.

In the current system, those two can come on for the wingbacks or the second striker, so they have use on the bench as subs, while we can tighten up the defense and play on the counter.

Having fullbacks like Thomas in CB allows the wingbacks to move forward and be fluid on the counter, while letting Thomas move into his natural position. It also helps keep Coady and Vestergaard from being on the pitch at the same time...

I like the idea that if, sorry, when, VK is out of position and the opposition are breaking down their right wing he can go over to cover and  try to deal with it in a natural looking way, not like an elephant on roller skates that a traditional CB would be. It's just whether his physicality and aerial ability is up to it in the more central areas. He certainly has more mobility than other candidates although another option would be Ricardo or Coulibally at RB and Justin as one of the outside CB's.

I remember when we had the world's smallest Left CB™ in a 3 with Rob Ullathorne one premier season. The other two CB were a bit better than what we have now though...

Yes, good point. Also had the likes of Frank Sinclair and Right Back Pontus Kamark in a three at 5 foot 10" not the biggest, mobile but solid enough. It's a good blend to have one of those with two bigger lads.

Worrying thing being Thomas was easily one of our best players on the pitch. Didn't look phased on or off the ball

Thought he was decent

Been good the last two games for me. This is his chance to make something for himself and then put him in contention to be one of the main guys next season.

I still think there’s ability there. He’s been awfully mismanaged and destroyed of confidence. He never had a decent loan, he went to Sheff Utd in the Prem ffs. He missed out on a season with us in the Championship due to Maresca’s tactical preferences.

He has a year left, if we can sell VK and make what we owe on him at least (might be unlikely), we could do worse than give him a chance.

I don’t have time for players who think they are better than they are, have a poor attitude, don’t work hard etc but I just don’t see that being the case with Thomas. If we give him a chance and he is not good enough, given better (hopefully) conditions then we let him go when his contract ends.

Obviously if we got financially beneficial offers for both VK and Thomas then decisions to be made.

Thought the lad had a solid performance unlike a few on that pitch last night, went into every tackle and challenge with great ability his long throws and set pieces are a bonus? One player we will need next season in the championship just hope those fuchers at the EFL don’t slap us with a transfer embargo otherwise we’re totally Fuched in that league too so we’ll be needing Thomas to step up even more he seems a decent prospect  !!

Yep, I agree with most here, he's been the one (slightly) shining star of the last few games. He's stepped up to the mark and certainly looks good enough for the Championship. I hope, whoever comes in, will give him more chances.

Think he will be alright in the Champ. Couldn’t see us getting a packet of crisps for VK though.
