First test when we played here two years ago looked like a nailed-on draw, there's still time if the pitch deteriorates

Yep, hopefully get Root to his highest test score and then Brook his double then start smashing. A lead of 150 minimum would be fantastic and give half a chance of a result.

Also, it's worth noting that in the vast vast majority of past Tests, two teams scoring this highly in their first innings would mean a nailed-on draw.

 

England's playing style with scoring at speed has given them the chance to force a result here, nothing else.

Also because it’s Pakistan, there’s always the hope of capitulation from them.

Obviously the batting is sensational but the pitch really is the flattest I can ever recall. It’s done nothing.

The levels of concentration and fitness are the key things. Road of a pitch but still some effort to bat this long.

Looks like Australia have found a possible long term answer to their opening issues, Sam Konstas turned 19 this month, century in both innings for New South Wales against South Australia

Looks like a lot of them are at the back of the stands in the shade to be fair.

Incredible stuff. Considering the pitch and the 1st innings score from Pakistan, this would be one of the great test victories.

 

We might be inconsistent and have some shocking series in general, but the ability to produce some of the best test wins is incredible.
