Any thoughts?

I've said my piece about Pointless being awesome in another thread but thought this deserved a thread of its own.

What do people think of House of Games? Pretty good overall I think but the last round is a bit tedious.

Lightening pn BBC2 looks crap.

The Victoria Coren Mitchell one is intriguing but always makes me feel like an idiot.

Also, any been on a quiz show?

The Coren Mitchell one is pretentious garbage. I like house of Games. Actually really like the chase as well.

Not a quiz show but I was auditioned to be a contestant on deal or no deal but was not successful.

There was a random quiz show about ten or fifteen years ago set on a scaffolding tower rigged with traps.  A question is asked with amount of answers equalling amount of contestants.   Each contestant would have to pick an answer with the contestant with the wrong answer being randomly ejected off the building in an imaginative method such as being propelled off attached to an office chair or inside a car.

Do anyone else remember it?

The Chase is one of the best there is. Shits all over Pointless.

I like House of Games too but it depends on the contestants/guests. Can be a tad slow at times.

I've been on Countdown.

I like both the Chase and Pointless. I love obscure knowledge, so Pointless is great. Plus it's a bit different, not just a question and answer quiz. The Chase is made by Bradley Walsh, the format is nothing special. Great show to watch though.

I watch a few but they all get a bit tedious after a while as the host runs through their never changing script the worst currently being Alexander Armstrong. So many depend on a host who can ad-lib and contestant who look like they're enjoying themselves.

I'm not that keen or interested in whether the contestants are married and for how long or their age etc. Ok some of them have interesting jobs but this is where you need a decent host to make the most of the info and Armstrong can't do that.

I'm amazed at how poor so many contestants are on the geography of England not knowing where large Cities or Towns are.

A question on Tipping Point yesterday, "which important figure in Christianity was born in a stable in Bethlehem?"

It really is the game show for dumb asses, doesn't mean I don't watch it quite often.

Fookin quiz shows ...   the family love em ...   not only  do they watch them they’ve been on them !! ...  Supermarket sweep, The pyramid game, The link, Greed, Tipping point to mention but a few ...  good bit of cash won and holidays  ...   they’ve also won on slogan competitions ...   trips to Egypt and Cuba and others I can’t remember  ...   loads recorded.     And then there’s the things they’ve acted in ...  and then there’s the talent shows !!! ...   especially the Saturday night singing ones ..   My bloody hard drive is rammed with it all !!!

As a fan of pretentious garbage I fully endorse Only Connect. I was utterly bemused at first, but regularly score well now.

It's actually very watchable and not as difficult as it seems once you're 'in.

I have a love/hate relationship with University Challenge. There are far too many physics/chemistry/mathematics questions for me, but getting a few right remains as satisfying as ever.

The Hit List is a guilty pleasure, just to test my music knowledge.

This all over. 85% of Pointless is just them slowly revealing "these answers would have got you points". Fvcking waste of time, plus the host is a melt

The Chase is brilliant, they cram so much quiz into each show, Bradley is a brilliant host, AND you occasionally get to see cowards (taking a minus total) losing their round and going home in complete shame. Love it

Yeah Tipping Point is bottom of the barrel stuff in terms of difficulty, probably the easiest to win overall though.

Tipping Point is pure luck, because of the machine.

The amount of brain dead people that have got to the final round, or even won, is astonishing.

The Chase is currently my favourite, I like the format and it's a good test of your knowledge. I used to watch Pointless a lot but then it became a quiz with lots of clues and hints which took the edge of it. Going back, The Weakest Link and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? with Chris Tarrant were superb viewing.

Millionaire was great when it was new, at the time when the main prize* for most game shows was a few hundred £ it seemed mental to me as a kid that they were giving away £125k prizes most weeks

*Apart from Bruce's Price is Right. The grand prize wasn't won often, but a car, holiday and all the other shit mounting up to £25-30k worth was way more than other game shows were offering. That was a good game show

Only taking the piss. Was it close? And who was presenting at the time?

Haha, 5 point loss. Jeff Stelling (who obviously jibed at supporting Leicester). Can't remember if I gave a dig back about him being Hartlepool.

Rachel Riley doing the letters and numbers though. I blame that for my loss.

I can't stand the fact that Armstrong has to repeat every single option twice as well. Worse on the long ones.

At most I'll watch the celebrity versions depending who it is.

Bradley Walsh is one of the best hosts around. He makes it just as much as the contestants making money/Chasers.

The Lingo / Tipping Point double feature on ITV is surely the worst thing to come out of this whole lockdown. Idiots trying to spell 4 letter words, or watching Ben Shepherd grope anything with a pulse playing a Skeggy penny arcade machine... thank god for The Chase to up the standards.

I'm a fan of house of games. I really enjoyed Michael Mcintyres 'The wheel' that was on saturday nights but has recently finished.

This became my families favourite quiz show, it was somewhat of a different format to the usual churn of contestant, Qu, buzz, answer but mainly as it was so funny not only McIntyre but the interaction from most of the celebrities.
McIntyre certainly made it for me thou not sure how it would be with another host mind.

It’s crazy but I genuinely would be worried I’d freeze up on an easy question and say something stupid.
