Am I the only one who thinks that Cengiz Under has been badly treated by Rogers. Surely he should at least be on the bench for every game.

He’s injured and has been on the bench pretty much every game

I’m gonna say yes you are. Other than his own fan base that Ünder seems to have brought with him. He’s had chances.

Yep, he’s shit.

Rodgers sees him in training and also knows how closely or otherwise Under has has followed his instructions on match days. Yes, it is hard to get to your best form without a run of games but Rodgers seems to trust either Albrighton or Ricardo more at the moment.

I think there are people who like to see him given more chances during this injury-hit-attacker period, which although understandable, I would tend to side with the coaching team

Under is this seasons Dragovic

People will be pining for him In years to come won’t they.

Also, Dragovic has much more of an impact in my opinion.

Rodgers has pretty unsubtlely had a dig at him because of his lack of work rate in an interview.

The high energy, high pressing game is how we've been successful and he obviously just doesn't fit into that.

He watches him in training every day with the eye test and our sports science team have been a massive factor in our success since Pearson brought them in in 2008. They will have analysed all his data in both training and matches - his sprints, his distance covered in games, his bleep tests in training etc. Theyll have tables comparing all our players energy levels and strength in matches, gym work, training matches, stamina/running tests etc. and decided it isn't enough for our level.

They have way more to go on than we do and I trust them given they've rarely got it wrong over the past 13 years (Kramaric maybe the exception).

Close thread please. He's currently injured and unless you have evidence of his poor treatment, bore off with the Rodgers bashing. He isn't good enough. Move on.

Hi Cengiz, welcome to Foxestalk.

He started well and thought he'd be a quality player but recently he's been trying too much or taking the wrong option. Has the talent but needs to make  better decisions imo.

He's ****ing shit and to compound his shitness doesn't fit into our team ethos it style of play. May do a job at a team lacking any others flair players where he's given a free role. But basically too undisciplined and also doesn't get stuck in. Loads of negatives

Well reckon he could be a decent player however the team are sitting 2nd the the EPL the fact that he has not featured much does not make him a bad player. Currently injured so will not feature and he still may have a role to play. Serie A is a completely different style of play to the PL and the guy has some mitigating reasons for not hitting the ground running, his countryman and best mate Cags struggled in his first year here, different language different culture and in a pandemic and the lad is still quite young. However the manager and coaching staff work with him everyday so given where the club is at you have to trust them, suppose the proof in the pudding will be in the summer if we choose to complete the deal or perhaps look to renegotiate it  or go our separate ways

There is no conspiracy here, if he was impressing in training he'd be featuring more. When he has had chances he hasn't taken them. From what I have seen I do not rate him.

That is a symptom of not playing much and feeling like he has to impress in every game. Trying too hard and getting frustrated and trying even harder to make something happen. It doesn't help he normally plays when one of our creative players are out and the expectation is on him to make it happen.

My advise to him would be to keep it simple recycle possession and then when it's low risk take on the player or try the killer ball. We do need someone who can beat players, stretch the play create space for others and take defenders out the game, but when you are trying it every time it's predictable and easier to defend against and when it's not working you've got to be the team player.

Get with the program, he is either absolutely shit or absolutely brilliant, which is it?
