It wasn't through a system of taxes and forfeiture in the name of piety that amassed that 'personal' fortune then?

Well it was that or from that rock band she managed in the 70's and 80's.

So a lesson to all. If you have enough money you can break the law in the most serious way and get a way with it.

This world is so ****ed up and it seems rotten to the core at the moment.

Same as it ever was. Just-us.

Once again another royal gets away with it. Yet so many people try and brag we have an amazing royal family... erm 🤔 okay well the queen blocked her sisters marriage to a war hero, cause he wasn't one of the family. Suspicious death of princess diana, Charles affair with camilla, aqusation of racism towards megan, now this... people still think there wonderful.

Some do, most think they are a family.  Your examples are a bit weird though.  The guy Margaret didn;t marry was married, Di died in a car crash due to papparazi, Camilla is clearly the love of Charles' life who he should have married originally, and Megan has suffered at the hands of the press not the family imo.

The right thing to do is for the queen to tell  Andy to go fix his own problems not cover his possible crimes.

I am ready for Canada  to get rid of these cretins.  Get a real job like the rest of us!

I have to say, I do think it's time the commonwealth was dissolved. It's an antiquated idea that I'm not really sure who benefits. These countries should be free to get rid of their allegiance to our royals.

As for Andrew - you just know it'll come out of the public purse. I like the Queen and Charles (mostly for his stance on climate change) but that's really as far as it goes. When the Queen dies, they need a massive rethink and just start winding them down.

He has sold his Swiss Chalet to pay for it.  Not our money, or the queens money.  Yes the Queen clearly knew about the case, which is why she stripped him of all his titles.

Phew, that's a relief. Its nice to know that if I ever commit a serious crime, I can just sell my Swiss chalet to pay for it.

Who benefits is a network of buck toothed posh folk who don't have to work or carry societal responsibilities because their blood is better than ours.

Paedophilia? No problem if you're a royal! They're just like us but with better blood!

... What? Membership of the commonwealth is entirely voluntary. Only a dozen or so out of the 50 or so even have the Queen as head of state. And even a couple of the recent joiners weren't even a part of the British empire.

I'm all for not enjoying the royals, but there's enough negatives without chatting nonsense eh.

It’s always good to have two just in case.  And obviously the place in Aspen if all goes to shit!

I’m sure any minute now you’re going to list royals who are on the civil list and don’t work for it.

I mean I’ve no doubt he did it, but she was 17, so while it’s undoubtedly a crime in the circumstances like men who pay for sex with prostitutes who have been trafficked, it’s not paedophilia.

I suppose that takes off some of the stigma. But it's murky territory and one that certainly butts up to a known paedophile.

Very sketchy.

Hasn't the civil list been abolished?

That’s correct Jon but for me it’s his association with a known paedo plus his total arrogance, bullying and massive sense of entitlement that mark him down as a complete pile of sh1te ..

Really hope that Andrew will no longer be a Prince, now.

Unfortunately I think he still will, and keep his Duke title and also remain a rear admiral ..  hopefully when Charlie boy takes over he’ll take the lot off him ..

Grown man sleeping with a 17 year old. Close enough to Paedo/pervert for me. Its disgusting behavior for a man let alone a royal. I get the 17 vs 5 year old is a big difference but still.

What about the other 17 year olds or younger who had 0 voice (perhaps not american?) that we may not know about. If there was one, I bet there could be more. Where there's smoke there's  fire. Just sayiiiinnnn.

The thing is, without any 'physical' evidence to investigate as proof, this is certainly a he against her word court case; nevertheless, this is very damaging to him, obviously, and that she has done well to get something ('justice', who knows).

We have photographic evidence of the 2 in physical contact with each other.  Given that he's been trying to deny ever knowing her it certainly lends more credence to her version of events than his.  He could have at least told a better lie and said that while he was at the Epstein house he didn't do what she claims, after all the photo hardly proves the accusation of being a nonce, just that they did actually meet.  Unfortunately for Andrew he's so removed from ordinary life that he genuinely thought people would find his tall tales of being unable to sweat, being too honourable for his own good, and of acutely remembering that he went to a specific restaurant on that one night all those years ago but he doesn't remember taking photos with partygoers in Epstein's house the same night?  Yeah, sure.  It's one of those where his refusal to give an honest account speaks volumes.

I was thinking more deeply into the matter, such as traces of semen at the time etc, but I get your other points.

He's certainly been exposed as a liar, for sure..
