My research has led me to conclude it's Palace away in January 2006, a game you could be forgiven for forgetting we lost 2-0 to goals from Jobi McAnuff and Andy Johnson. I'm guessing it's Rab Douglas holding the ball in the picture in which case our defenders are probably celebrating him doing something helpful for once.

Wow we only wore it twice..... it was a lovely shirt (even though JJB!). I had a long sleeved version of it. Don’t know where it is or what happened to it. Seemed to have fell into a black hole in my house

I didn't have the time tonight to be able to get it spot on but hopefully a more realistic version of what your design would look like...ish...

That's nice.

Only thing I don't like on that is how the sponsor looks, but then, I'm not even sure if there is a way of the sponsor not looking a bit rubbish being positioned where it is, and where the kit has a sash.

Funny how some random blokes can make an absolute piece of art like that, which we all would be happy to throw our money at yet people getting paid fortunes designing come up with the shit they do

1. We don't get a bespoke kit though, we use a template, nobody is trying to make a special kit for Leicester City.

2. I think you drastically over estimate how much the guy at Adidas who makes the generic templates earns.

Have we not moved up a tier in terms of the deal with Adidas now so we get something a bit more than the generic template crap stuff?

We may not get a bespoke kit but how much harder is it for them to do one really a company of that size.

I’m sure he earns a decent enough salary.

Been said before but Real Madrid's home kit is the same template and looks awful with the pink. And they're massssiiveee!

We're the 19th biggest football club in the World!

All sorts of clubs have bespoke kits: even with Adidas, as every MLS club - even our bitter rivals Cincinnati FC - have bespoke kits, so it's not really that much of a stretch.

In terms of overall revenue.

We won't be anywhere near that in terms of shirt sales. We sold on average 50k shirts a year up to and including our title winning season in 15/16 over the 6 years prior. Whilst that has no doubt increased, we are nowhere near the elite.

Manchester United sell over 3m a year, with liverpools new Nike deal probably coming close to that. We were outsold considerably in the Premier League shirt rankings by Aston Villa last season and even Paddy Powers Huddersfield stunt in 2019 sat them about 10 places above us.

For 20/21, we were outsold by the "big 6" + Everton, West Ham, Aston Villa, Brighton, Newcastle, Wolves, Leeds, Palace, Bournemouth, Southampton, Brentford and Watford in England alone. We are simply nowhere near the size we would ever need to be considered elite enough for a standalone kit design.

Even winning the FA cup, continued top 6 dominance over the next 5 seasons, qualifying for the CL on regular occasions may not increase our shirt appeal enough to be close to this.

I was being a little flippant about being the 19th biggest club ;)

I don't disagree with anything you are saying, but would add 2 points:

1) If you make a great kit, it will sell: look no further than your own Avatar - that Nigerian kit is the perfect example. And you have far more chance doing that with bespoke kits that just a lazy single colour with monochrome logos (i.e. last year maroon, this year picnic blanket). Put our full badge on the home kit, but I think having just the Foxes' Head (or even running fox) on 2nd/3rd kits would make it more accessible to neutrals.

2) I'm not really sure whether it is as simple a formula as more shirt sales = bespoke design. There will be some additional costs, but adidas design and manufacture so many kits - the vast majority will have circulation well below ours, so I doubt there is really much additional cost. As I say, they roll out new kits for every single MLS teams every year and they are not elite clubs. I'm pretty sure this would be in the MLS contract, but the point is, these will be on the same basic template, but with different tweaks. I would have thought that would just be standard to clubs in the most televised league in the world - but I think adidas are just being a bit lazy, which brings me to the same conclusion as Master Fox:

Bollocks to Adidas then if they won't make a bespoke kit for us. Bring back JJB

Interesting that Wolves are bringing their adidas contract to an end early & switching to Castore https://www.footyheadlines.com/2020/11/wolves-agree-kit-deal-with-castore.html

There is an interesting article here https://www.forbes.com/sites/zakgarnerpurkis/2020/11/08/rangers-fcs-deal-with-castore-could-be-a-catalyst-for-change/?sh=7953b6912e72 - and sounds like Castore are trying to make inroads so clubs that don't want to feel like they are in a sausage machine.
