John Motson just said: "Leicester in the first half played as well as anyone I've seen all season."

We were good but i still think we were much better against Utd in the recent Cup game, Better opposition yet we made them look average.

I measure whether pragmatism is an issue on how many goals we score and how well we are doing. We still score a good amount of goals and I think we maximise the attacking options we have at our disposal, where we could score more goals is from set pieces which is why we are probably 5-10 goals behind the two Manchester clubs.

Yeah, I think that's fair. The best measure will be our final three games. A team of our quality should be slapping teams like West Brom, Sheff Utd, Palace so I'm not sure how much it tells us atm. One thing is though, we're not completely shutting up shop immediately after scoring like you see with Spurs. We actually look most like scoring in the 5-10 minutes after we score.

Like you say, atm he seems to be maximising the resources at his disposal so I can have little complaint. It's amazing how different the performances look when you pop Amartey in the team instead of one of our good centre backs. I wonder if Castagne is now 4th choice in the back 3, that'll make me a little more happy.

....I agree to some extent with this, but where we fall down is, the final ball is poor, misplaced, short, wrong decision and not anticipated!!!

We get this right and we will be pushing 90+ goals per season, we can be so good when we get on top and can blow teams away. We will not get there until that aspect of our game can be improved on.

Strange that Rodgers singled out Kelechi in the first half saying he gives away the ball too often and cheaply.

Vardy's touch and basic passing, in particular first time / lay off's has been so poor for a number of games now.

He singled him out after the Southampton game as well. Obviously he knows Kel well enough to know if this publicly criticism will work. But it was a bit odd to hear out most inform player get criticised.

I want to add that I was pleased to see Maddison back. He seemed to recognise more of what his role should be and more content to play that role without overdoing things like he sometimes did in the past. Maybe being away out injured helped him see this while his teammates have been doing well. I am

also particularly pleased that he did not take any corners or freekicks, given his previous track record and fan backlash. More to the point, he is just back from injury (better not to keep twisting his hip) and it is good to see that others who are capable are sharing the responsibility (Tielemans, Albrighton and even Nacho).

I’m interested in the hip thing .....given that he used to take everything, it’s so obvious when he doesn’t. if they are so worried about it that he can’t take set pieces then he loses a lot of his ‘thang’ .......

Yes I did wonder if he wasn't taking set pieces because of his hip injury. Hopefully its just a temporary thing whilst his hip fully heals but it's no huge issue anyway as Youri has proven he is good at set pieces. Still reckon Madders would take free kicks if there was a goal scoring opportunity.

The problem with set pieces is that it all depends on who's radar has been calibrated that day, which seems to be variable judging by the evidence so far...

Whilst the execution of set pieces can sometimes be poor, I still feel a lot of out set pieces are wasted due to us not setting up correctly in the box and players not attacking the ball in the right areas. Many times Madders or Youri have whipped in good balls and the defenders clear it with ease as nobody attacks the ball in the right areas. I know Evans scored against WBA but generally our defenders and also Ndidi hardly ever score. Given they are all quite big lads, we probably should be getting a few goals a season out of all of them.

...noticed there is now a movement to the near post at corners!!!

Someone appears to have woken up to the opportunity it gives us. Any slight contact at the near post is pretty difficult to defend.

Also noticed balls are now floated to the back post and players are having attempts at goal, and their efforts going wide. Hard to believe they choose to go for goal when their are being challenged and off balance. Just getting the ball back across the goal should be the option, it is a worry that the players do not seem to think for themselves and make poor decisions in these situations.

We do lack composure in these instances and with the quality of big men we have at the back, we really should be better at this.
