Stevosevic Posted 8 October 2022 Posted 8 October 2022 Yeh I’m really not interested anymore. Won’t be wasting my time watching this lot until something changes. Happy to miss Zaha tearing us a new one on Saturday as he so often has. 2 1

I'm feeling the same, granted I'm on holiday for the palace game.. until the board act in the best interest of the club, I'm not bothered. He needs to go, we need to move on... feels like Groundhogs day with the constant rumours of will he/won't he get the sack.

Jakemoore Posted 9 October 2022 Posted 9 October 2022 I do understand the theory behind BR trying to get himself sacked. I’m not 100% sure that anyone would ever actually do it but if ever anyone has it’s this guy. He’s criticised the players. He’s criticised the club. He’s made horrible substitutions that consistently throw away wins. All valid points. But we hammered Forest on Monday and yes they are truly awful. But you don’t thrash anyone at this level unless you’re on it so if he really wanted the sack do you not think he’d have thrown the local Derby as well? Worryingly, I think the problems are deeper than that. I think he’s lost the plot and honestly just can’t resolve the huge issue that he is created. I’m not sure that he’s given up as such. I just don’t think he knows how to stay afloat. GET HIM OUT. 1

Popular Post Tom12345 Posted 9 October 2022 Popular Post Posted 9 October 2022 (edited) The team we had sent out there yesterday should have comfortably win. Again, after scoring, we started to “control” the game. I don’t know how many times we commit this error although at the time of winning, many fans likewise supported the idea of game management and/or winning no matter the style and now have turned back into talking about “weak” mentality etc. It is ironically the same thing. We have to keep playing our game to win. Our defensive problem is also with Rodgers’ set up. He relies a lot on the full backs going up field for width (except for Barnes who is too one dimensional). When they are upfield, we are exposed at the back and one mistake (such as the one Faes made leading to the first goal) can cost us a goal because we are too thin. This is also ironic because of Rodgers’ focus on defence and control. When we are pressing high and trying to play positively, at least our opponent is pushed at their end trying to defend. We are not too bad at that and we can score goals. But as soon as we try to “game manage” and try to f.king pass around at the back and be in that comfort zone, we invite the opposition towards our half and one mistake can lead to us being significantly exposed, particularly as our full backs are often further up from our backline. So we either have to continue to play our positive way or not play with our full backs going up field and play with a more traditional 442 if we want to defend better. We are often in a half way house when we game manage as our formation and tactics are simply incompatible and crap. Also, when Ndidi is available and (no doubt be) picked by Rodgers, the problem is compounded as his inability to help his teammates while in possession puts us under more pressure. When we get into our shell to defend leads, our lone striker becomes useless. We see time and time again we just defend without a clue how to advance forward into opposition half other than hoofing it - even when we are down and chasing. When we are all attacking, at least our lone striker has support, when we try to defend from 10th minute like yesterday, then our lone striker just becomes a headless chicken running around. We would be better off with 2 strikers playing that way and play 442 because at least the full backs can stay back and help properly defend, while we can have some teeth at the top with two strikers. This is where we can bring in Nacho as well as he is top quality criminally wasted on the bench by Rodgers. Finally and most importantly, Rodgers’ conservatism is a disease in the mind. Confidence destroying and weak. Rodgers out. He is clueless. Edited 9 October 2022 by Tom12345 7 3

Felt bad for Maddison coming to the away end basically on his own greeted by 1100 singing Rodgers out. Sort of agree but he's got to own it for defending the **** in interviews as well. Dan Posted 9 October 2022 Posted 9 October 2022 4 defeats from winning positions after 9 games. There is genuinely no more pathetic side I can remember. The biggest credit to the opposition I think you'll ever see. It's not like a Derby for example who were blatantly out of their depth that beating them wouldn't really get you too excited. The way we collapse and give points, memorable wins away is just beyond a disgrace. Unforgivable in fact. Get out of this club you utter ****. 1
J. James Posted 9 October 2022 Posted 9 October 2022 Personally the now throwaway sound bite of "l take full responsibility" drives me crazy, it is used by con men in many walks of life notably politics (Bozo more than once) and ought to (and used to) be followed by "consequently l must tender my resignation" - not any more, meaningless crap and false humility, Rodgers is the Boris johnson of football - a useless self aggrandizing fool who takes responsibility but no blame. And like Bozo he simply will not go unless propelled, for one reason above all: A new manager would do a great deal better with the same group of players and so spotlight exactly where the problem was, no if's, buts or maybe's. As it stands Rodgers can continue to "take responsibility" and blame someone else. Watching our club now is like watching a good friend drinking themselves into oblivion, an ever decreasing spiral that everyone but they can see will only end in disaster. I can't watch that process anymore, it's just too depressing. 1

Comparing him to Peter Taylor is laughable. 1
Sly Posted 9 October 2022 Posted 9 October 2022 (edited) Any chance that we are this seasons “All or Nothing”, and we don’t want this portrayal on the club? We’re giving him as long as possible! Tommy Fresh Posted 9 October 2022 Posted 9 October 2022 Over half way now to conceding more goals than the side who got relegated to League 1. Which at the current rate we'll pass in 28 fewer games.

That result was not on Brendan. 17
