They weren't the games that meant we missed out on the CL. Drawing with Watford and Brighton, losing to Bournemouth 4-1, Everton 2-1 Spurs 3-0. That's why we missed out. I believe there are justifiable reasons why we lost our grip on the top four (unable to adjust with post lock-down, injuries etc) but blaming some variation in points from other team's matches just seems sad to me. It just seems like mental point juggling masturbation. Not saying I don't do it, but I would much rather have us looking UP the table, not down. There's more momentum in that with a clear goal.

I hope we do it, but I don't think the scars from last year have healed yet lol

Even when Youri has a bad day, he bosses the midfield. What I love is how much he tracks back, a complete box to box midfielder.

Interesting.  I thought Youri was below par tonight but your stats tell a different tale.

Love a nacho interview

Imagine this comment a couple of months ago lol Back when Maddison was the 'king of interviews' and Kelechi 'cannot even speak proper English'. Now it's 'King Kel' and Maddison the admonished.

Even more baffling that he was deemed surplus to requirements at a relegated West Brom and came to us for £3.5 Million. In 2018. Six months after Virgil van Dijk changed hands for £75 million.

Not trying to claim he's on the same level, but the thought of being able to get 21 Jonny Evans'es for the price of him, and still having enough pocket change to buy a Jamie Vardy from Fleetwood is incredible.

I'm sure West Brom didn't find him "surplus to requirements". But A) he was one of the highest earners, B) he definitely had a wish to stay in the Prem (with Man City and Arsenal?) having courted him and C) probably had a relegation release clause in his contract.

To be fair, Sky were already saying we'd 'blown it' again with what the score was at half-time.

Yet we are second at coming back, which they shown several times in the second half... but they really didn’t want us winning haha

Is there a more physical team than Palace? Would say Burnley but these boys smashed us (literally) for a good 60minutes

We didn't cope well with it first half, but got to grips more with it and they began to tire which helped too.

Southampton will be a different game. Great to get a win against a side that certainly pushed us about and got in our faces. We seem to handle different situations lot better than last season and can adapt our game accordingly.

They were very well organised and determined tonight, even sky said it was the best performance from them for a while... so to get the win was impressive, it is what teams that play in the CL do

Right.... now that we have that game out of the way, I have to start thinking about how I'm going to convince the Mrs to let me watch the Southampton game on my wedding night...

In Bed..:dunno:

No easy games. I might have mentioned that. Did well to come back. Rode the physical threat in the end and scored two very good goals.

Have to keep going. Man Utd are catchable but that is largely irrelevant in the grand scheme.

I want us to beat Man U, we are better it is just a matter of 3rd though... hopefully we get the fa cup and Man U end empty handed again.

7. Points. Clear. Of. Fifth.

Plus 12 goals better gd than West Ham so they need to score more than 2.4 goals more than us every game!

They always look so mediocre when I watch them but they've only lost 4 games all season so they must be doing something right.

Shows you how good he is, I thought he had an average game by his standard. Maybe the mistake that gave Palace a goal is weighing on my mind!

A goal worthy of winning a game.

Reckon Rodgers actually gave them a rollicking at half time. A proper kick up the arse.

I have faith in these players to finish the job. Picking up the points and scoring goals even when not playing to the best of our ability.

Evans a close contender for man of the match not only for the assist, but that phenomenal block to deny them a 2nd. Superb tracking back for that.

3 points again on Friday and we're 10 points ahead of 5th :o

Think he told them to relax and play their normal game. (Kasper)

This is pretty cool. I thought they stopped the game for Milivojevic to change his boots but if they did stop it for Fofana to get a drink then fair fvcking play!
