So you lose 3 million and then may him say 1.5m in wages, so around 4.5m If he played 10 games that would cost 450k per game. He would be lucky to get a couple of games in the cup, so probably be more like 2m per game.

sacreblueits442 Posted 6 August 2021 Posted 6 August 2021 ...the problem with Ghezzal is that he is scared or refuses to have any contact on the pitch!!! The skillset is there, he just lacks the courage to compete on the pitch. He is confident to step-up for deadball situations and does put in a good ball, but that situation does not involve coming into contact with the opposition. This does not appear to be a confidence issue, it is a choice he has made, either through apathy or a deliberate ploy to take money from the club, under clearly, false pretences.

I think Besiktas have called our bluff and we have finally had to cave. He has even played a big part in pre-season but obviously Besiktas haven't panicked and we are at the point where we just have to accept their low offer or be forced to keep him. Surprised more teams didn't come in for him and maybe that was our hope, but looks like Besiktas patience has paid off for them (if this deal agreed is true of course)
