I think we are being smart. Don’t let him go until we have landed a rm. if we can’t do the right deal, losing 2/3m isnt the end of the world and keeps us with an option.

I’d much rather that than see us panic buy

We aren't going to keep him as a option even if we don't get a RW.

Perez, Albrighton, Sowah will all be in front of him.

I would tend to agree….but remember when Slimani started the season on the bench…and then came on and played last season… in the Prem… for Brendan 👀

On  the bench for the 1 game, the Villa home game and got 19 minutes.......

Because Vardy was unavailable.

Wouldn’t rule anything out tbh. Don’t think he would have been in the friendlies if they weren’t keeping their options open

Basically, he'll be a Leicester player until we receive he money Top wants for him.

As we don't have an abundance of capable right sided, attacking talent at the club, Brendan will use him until he goes, as he sees fit.

It really wouldn't be a surprise to see him in match day squads, until the window is shut, and transfers become more 'desperate'.

See example of Slimani last year

We were short on numbers we had 9 senior outfield players unavailable for the first 2 friendlies, Castange. Tielemans, Preat, Evans, Justin, Perez, Mendy, Barnes, Albrighton.

It was nothing more then making up the numbers.

im not saying youre wrong but why not give another youth player a shot if that were the case? Especially as they put him on all set pieces as well.

He's 95% certain to be gone but if we get blocked in the market... stranger things have happened. In honesty he looks a much better player already, his confidence is so high.

Maybe they didn't think anyone else was ready?

Maybe a little gamesmanship with Ghezzal and his agent to make them get a riddle on.

I'm pretty sure Ghezzal doesn't fancy coming back here full time, its his last big chance to get a big pay day on the back of a good season.

Can we just cancel his contract and pay him off or is that just going to cost us a lot of money

Depends on what Brendan thinks/says. Truth is, Ghezzal might be a little lightweight for the Premier League, but he is tailor made for Europa League.

Leaving on a free after a half-decent season here could be great for him, and get him a final contract to his liking in France or Turkey.

Option A: get a few mill for him and let another club pay his wages.

Option B:  get zilch for him and pay him the £2.5M we still owe him.

So let’s do Option B?!   Yep, I do believe you are a Cowboys fan.

Read what I put I said could we not cancel his contract  or does it cost us a lot of money because at the moment option a is not happening at all because no one seems to want to stump up with a fee

We can't cancel his contract, we would have to pay it up. In other words, pay him what we would have paid in wages, possibly with a small discount as we are paying up front.

Not really….

we have a duty to get players match fit, encase they end up starting the season with us or another team. He’d have had game time even if the other international players were around.

Cancelling his contract entails paying out its remaining value, exactly as I stated.   And it’s been established the lowest fee we would get is ₤2.5M from Besiktas (at least one other club offered more).

So it is every bit as simple as … do we pay out two and a half mill to make him a free agent  … or take in two and a half mill by selling him as our player.

Not simple enough for you, alas.

Get 3.5 million euros it s not bad he is under last year contract. And Leicester get rid of the salary cost either. I guess it s around 3 M euros per year too… 7 million revenue from him not bad

Unpopular opinion, but I think as a number 10 he’s actually pretty decent. His set piece delivery is good and he definitely has technical ability; just not enough pace to be a genuinely effective premiership winger.

I tend to think the combination of his clever passes, good control and dead ball contributions would give us more than we get from Perez. I don’t think he is at the level we need to be at to break the Top 4, but he’s arguably as good as our other options as Madders’ back up.
