You are right nobody is irreplaceable. but the transition may mean 10 dropped points and we struggle to maintain top 6. Jimmy has a lot of faults but he also has a very sharp brain and that is vital at the top level.

See, I thought we tried that when Madders was injured, and we were just left with no connection between midfield and our attacking players. We won our first 3 matches of the season and scored 12 goals with Preat-Tielemans-Ndidi starting and no Maddison, and that was without a real RW.

But that's probably because our wingers were Perez and Albrighton I agree though, the Maddison, Tielemans and Ndidi combo is great and should be our 'best' combination but don't think it works when we play 2 upfront, Maddison needs space.

Pretty sure we were using Ndidi as a centre back with Mendy as the defensive mid in the games against West Brom and Burnley Then Ndidi missed the Man City game and it was just Mendy and Youri with Praet as a wide midfielder Edited 12 July 2021 by moore_94

He still went for Perez to solve the problem, there is something just not right in this situation.
