If you ever want to justify your response to the consistent, yet ridiculous suggestions that we should play a youth team player in the first team after any bad game. Harry Worely is it.

Big game, sure let’s use this to find out if the youth team player is league 2 or conference level.

This surely has to be the most bizarre tactical decision in the clubs history? He wasn’t even on the fringes of the team

His style of football would've driven thousands away. Collectively the worst and least enjoyable home matches we've ever played under a manager.

didn’t we have like 5 RBs playing for a couple of games or did I just imagine that?

Well we’ve had 3/4 rbs on the pitch this season at times so clearly he was just a trend setter

He was manager for only 3 league games the last one a 4-1 thumping of Watford  so  you cant give an opinion or compare him with other dead beats . Pearson has failed every where bar here and Holloway got Blackpool into the Premier so perhaps it was other factors

I remember that Watford game. Everything basically went with for us that sunny day (even DJ Campbell and de Vries scored) and following two quick goals after half time, it was exhibition football which gave us completely false expectations for the remainder of the season.

I genuinely can't even bring myself to click that.

Even that badge with the shield around it makes me think of JAKO and Topps Tiles and makes me want to take a fully clothed shower and just cry.

Didn't he have the players cleaning the toilets and working in the club shop etc?

...he said he didn't!!!

The playing staff were split in groups of five and was interacting with the community. The players were involved with numerous projects but Allen claims that comment was a fabrication.

Just finished listening to it ......didn’t have a bad word to say about the club, I honestly believe if he had stayed we wouldn’t have been relegated. His methods were different and brought great success for him in the lower leagues, not sure I believe some of the stories that have since been leaked about him, think they have been released to help support the decision to get rid of him.

For me the issue was clearly Mandaric as our problems continued after Allen had left, Holloway was a decent manager, who was made to look like an incompetent fool in his ill fated time here too.

when you listen to the full podcast you realise a lot of Martin Allen’s traits come from a disciplined and tough upbringing, he even admits he lived as a professional footballer from the age of 8 and his dad was very hard on him.

I actually found listening to the podcast changed my view on him, always thought he was a bit of an arsehole but actually he is a nice bloke, likes a laugh and has overcome a lot of adversity and shown so much determination to make the most of his talent to be as successful as he can.

He had a club meeting , everyone was there . Wrote on a sheet was 'FIFO' .He did his talk and finished with 'FIFO' . He told everyone who was there, 'fit in or **** off'. It didn't go down well . Manderic was astounded .Then after several complaints about him , he was sacked !!!

Just got around to listening to it and I pretty much agree with the above.

Had he stayed we wouldnt have been relegated. Yes his methods were different but you shouldn't knock him. Who knows what might have happened.

One interesting comment about a club where a player was signed on a 3 year deal without his approval who then disrupted the dressing room. He said he wouldnt name names but it appears it was Leicester (sacked and context at the time was Milan signing players). Any idea who it could have been?

Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink?

Remember someone from Sky Sports asking him about the rumour of Hasselbaink joining the club, and he denied any suggestion that he made the signing; was quite embarrassing to listen to.

That was when we played away at Accrington in the cup I think, I remember as I was sat in some horrible working mens club up there before the game and there was an interview with him that day quashing it.

How ironic, I was in the same place. lol

Nice small stadium.

Wasn't really comfortable watching it and then the Accrington fans there bursting into laughter.

Could be then. Allen said 3 years but seemed a bit forgetful so could be 2.

Jonny Hayes was a 3 year deal?
