What did happen in the ‘Clive Clarke’ incident, can’t remember if I’m honest (it’s an age thing)

He had a heart attack at half time in a league cup game v Forest

Ah I remember now, didn’t we ‘gift’ Forest a goal because of it, didn’t realise it caused a problem. I remember Martin Allen was paid off when he left and warned not to mention his time at City to the media....

This is a bit random but I've got a vague memory of Martin Allen holding an open training session at the old Filbo. Can remember sitting in the Carling stand with a few mates and maybe a few hundred others there. MA had a head set on and was hooked up to the PA system. He basically introduced each drill briefly and then just cracked jokes until the next drill. Like a footballing David Brent. Weird.

Anyone else remember that?

He became our manager 5 years after Filbert Street was knocked down?

Or did he just randomly turn up at Filbert Street to give a training session?

It was at the crisp bowl, not Filbo, but yeah I was there. We had too many players but the first 11 was looking a bit better, he seemed like an interesting an engaging coach, and I was full of hope for the season. Going down that year was just brutal.

No getting our owners interested eclipses getting Nige in by some way.

Which is no slight to the great job Pearson did either.

And they went back to him after he left when they originally arrived.

If Top had his time again, he wouldn't have let Pearson go to Hull, I'm sure of it.

I think we let their goalie walk the ball through so as not to cause problems with the betting. We must have won because we had those games v Villa and Chelsea???

Remember him coming out before kick off at the last home game he managed(Watford),standing in the centre circle and waving, which i thought at the time was a bit strange.

No, but we're all entitled to our opinion.

Without Pearson we might have still been languishing in League One and Vichai might have bought Derby instead

He introduced playing Hey Jude before we went out, in the misguided belief it's inspirational.

Why we still do it (or a least did last time I went) is beyond me.

I’m sure we also had a pre-season friendly where a fan played the last 10 Minutes? Against Notts County or somebody like that.

One of the funniest bits of that era was Megson being the absolute pits here and the fans wishing he was sacked and Bolton in the PL at the time came and actually paid compensation for him.

We were all going nuts as Mandaric was digging his heels in and refusing to let him go.

Hiring Pearson was clearly the best thing that Milan did
