Also isn’t it pretty likely that co-comms is going to be affiliated with one of the teams playing? Just like the pundits in the studio. I’m pretty certain nobody would have an issue if it was an ex palace player on commentary.  It’s only ever Neville, Carragher or Smith anyone has a problem with.

Like you said above, I couldn’t give a shite

Just saw the league table, if Leicester finish above Wolves I’ll buy everyone at the Western a drink on last day of the season

The whole season feels like a wasted opportunity. We could be up there potentially fighting for the 4th spot. This team has the quality for a 4-6 position. I don't want to find excuses but the biggest reason of our inconsistency is the tsunami of injuries. It's also easy to say that we wasted 2 transfer windows but on the other hand it's very difficult to find solid CBs nowadays.

The games against PSV are monumental for our season.

I see this a fair bit on here and I always think, are you actually that arsed?

Yes.

With about two seconds of consideration could be avoided.

Big club bias in action.

Why would that not rip my knitting?

Arsenal's current league position is fairly lofty, as they've appeared generally average for most of the season.

Palace got 2 quality starting  CBs for about the same price each as Vesty. Hmmm.

Can't help but think that Zaha would've achieved more by going to a bigger club with European football on offer, had he decided to move a couple of seasons or so ago - and reckon that he knows this himself.

But fair play for him in being loyal to Palace for so long.

Only been at Palace so long because of their asking price and no one wanting to pay it for him

Usually hands in a transfer request every summer

Yeah, Zaha has been pretty open about wanting to leave Palace. Think he'd have our hands off if we'd have offered him a contract 2 years ago.

The thing that has struck me about Zaha is how his ability on the pitch contrasts with his expression in interviews.

Perhaps I just disagree with him!

For our fans that get on Maddisons back for his dress sense etc, imagine the meltdown if we signed Kalvin Phillips 🤣. What the actual fck has he got on his feet? Screenshot_20220404-173425_Facebook.thumb.jpg.12361e17abe0ccd7d155eed634d2dadc.jpg

Dunno what they are but he's clearly a messy eater

The problem is not just money, it’s coming here as 4th or 5th choice CB when everyone is fit.

It’s not fun to joke at someone when they have been out injured for so long. Leeds are just protecting him and wrapping his feet in cotton blankets.

It’s a good case point for young stars actually. Got his big move to man United. Thought he had made it and didn’t realise that that was when the expectations only got tougher and didn’t impress over a long period. Has been good at palace but those shining days over and no one will come in now and pay those inflated prices for a very good player with tainted record at a bigger club.

Actually it may be that he did work hard but he just manage to set the place on fire at a bigger club. With a big move to a top six club the expectations are so much higher. There are some shining stars that will clearly succeed but for many the fairytale doesn’t quite materialise.

Andersen is just a good CB and Guehi looks decent. It's about style of play  and tactics also. Andersen had 70% pass accuracy yesterday which is fairly low for a CB. But their manager knows they can't play from the back so both their CBs try long passes all day. We've done the same with Soyuncu lately but BR still wants the team to build up from the back even against top quality pressing teams.

I can see why BR insists on this style of play but it's risky and too often we pay the price. Still if we want to be a consistent top 6 or even top 4 team we need to perfect BR's style imo and find the best players for this. Board and team must be ambitious. If we start finishing mid table for several seasons we'll lose a lot easier some of our top quality young players to other teams.

Problem is a lot of the cheaper quality players get signed early in the window, they both signed for Palace in July, we weren't in the market for a CB until Fofana broke his leg on the 4th of August, 10 days before the PL kicked off.

Vesty was a panic buy, and Southampton know we were desperate.

@Aus Fox also makes a good point, anyone coming in would be aware that Fofana, Evans and Soyuncu are 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice once fit.
