On a serious note re. DCL cover shoot. Have seen it posted on a number of social media platforms and the response is depressing. Have seen just now such pearls of intelligent wit as “that looks gay” and “bender”. Fvck sake we live in a depressing world. I can just about understand people being annoyed that he’s doing photoshoots while the team is struggling (though actually not really. Was it any better in the “good old days” when players just got smashed in the pub and gambled instead? At least that was “manly” eh?). But the homophonia is just ugly.

I'd call that skullduggery if it weren't so laughable.

 

 

EFC are clinging to a Derby County strategy (fudge, lie, delay, and pray) and deserve at least as large a points deduction.  Send them down and turn Bramley-Moore Docks into a public park.

We need to be a bit fair though regarding Vestergaard. Our back 4 (or 3) were changing in almost every single game this season. It's not easy to find any defensive consistency when the back line is changing constantly due to injuries. I'm not saying he was a great signing but we signed him as a 4th choice CB. Even 5th if you rate Amartey as a decent CB.

I am reliably told that Daniel Amartey is a fuching centre back, so it's fair to assume Vestergaard is at the bottom of the pile

“The Premier League has announced that Anthony Taylor will referee Man City v Liverpool, with Paul Tierney on VAR duty”

Although the latter was the one who didn’t send Milner off in the reverse game so Man C might point to that too .

Liverpool lose and you can see Klopp going mad.

 

Maybe should have had Mike Dean as one of the refs to even things up.

 

You just know it's going to be decided by a VAR call.

Is there a system in the premier league, where clubs review and score the match referee. Say for example at start of the season, 12 referee's are announced. After a match the clubs score the referee on how fair they believe the decisions are. 1) Poor, 2) Satisfactory, 3) Excellent. Come the end of season with all scores counted whoever finishes top will recieve an award of sum sort, the ref ranked with the lowest points, who finish bottom will be relegated to ref in the championship.

Every game has it from top flight to non league  to Sunday morning stuff but the results don’t have any impact on awards or promotion/relegation. 
 

You have to give a ref a mark out of 100. Anything 60 or less has to be backed up with a full report

Clubs will give marks and there are assessors .

 

This is how the Premier league do it .

A slight problem is that if you look at the list of referees, the majority are from the North West. Not a clue how that's occurred but it's pretty inevitable that the accusation will come.

Looking forward to Burnley v Everton tonight. Obviously the quality of football will be hideous but should be full of tension and I think I'd enjoy it a lot more than Chelsea-Real.

Should be a good game, like you say, lots riding on it and should be a decent atmosphere. There'll definitely be a couple of flash points tonight, I think a red should be guaranteed

When you look at how we had to work our backsides off to get the result against Burnley when we were merely in a (albeit reasonably long) rut, with the added pressure, lack of quality and seemingly laziness of Everton I think they will struggle something rotten tonight.

Complete rebuild job needed, so I doubt that United have the patience for this to last any more than a few seasons at best.
