Appreciate it may be a bit confusing if English isn't your first language. It makes more sense if you break it down to its original meaning. Week-end - the end of the week in question is this one, so we describe it as this weekend. The end of the week in question in which the Community Shield match is being played is next week, hence next weekend. Edited 26 July 2021 by ealingfox

'This' weekend is exactly the same as 'next' weekend in this context. Ie. The next weekend is the next one we come to, not the one after. When you stand at the front of a queue and the shopkeeper calls 'next', is that you or the person standing behind? 1
demon_dog Posted 26 July 2021 Posted 26 July 2021 Why don't you simply say "It's a week on Saturday", this solves any confusion. 3

A local booking service was setup via swiftqueue. There were some initial issues with the national system and a number of areas set up their own booking system including Leicestershire. I know this because it was setup by one of my colleagues. It certainly was for staff only - if you had taken the time to read the eligibility page that came up. Ive just checked and the current message (it has been updated over time and now allows non-staff) says "This booking process is for eligible people in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland that fall as part of the below groups. Priority groups have been agreed nationally and protect those people most at risk from serious illness, hospitalisation and possibly dying from covid. Due to local capacity at the Clinic the invitation is being extended to the following groups to book their first dose vaccination: 1. Aged 45 years or over 2. Aged 18 years or over who has an underlying health condition " So unless your son/daughter have underlying conditions they STILL cant answer the eligibility question 4 hours ago, volpeazzurro said: When you filled the application in, you amongst other things had to add your date of birth and occupation. It's a platform that has been used in various places all over the country and is entirely transparent. The vaccine roll out has been a multipronged approach. Doctors surgeries have done some but understandably, they only have so many staff and still have to maintain their core function. There have also been large well published events where anyone can just turn up including pop up centres where infection rates were most prevalent and take up previously low in certain communities for example. There have been vaccination outlets at the Oadby Racecourse, Highfields, Belgrade and the Peepul Centre for example. Thanks for telling me how it all worked. I had no idea. I've only been working on the vaccination programme since last october. 4 hours ago, volpeazzurro said: As for the code itself, on a personal level it was given to me by a neighbour. He'd been advised by our doctors surgery to use the NHS website but had a bit of difficulty using it at first as it was a bit clunky and he's not that Internet savvy. He rang the General hospital and specifically enquired about age and occupation and it was them that actually gave him the code and confirmed it was for anyone, they also advised him how to fill it in making sure he put an answer in every field because if you didn't, the system would reject it. He put retired in the appropriate box because he is. You used a code, yep - to the staff only website. We had to change the code because people had shared it with those that weren't eligible. 4 hours ago, volpeazzurro said: It's also been on social media platforms because I personally saw it on Facebook. My local surgery also use the system to update individual medical records as I rang them to gain online access via the national Patient Access App which I used to reorder medication. It also updates the online downloadable NHS app (not the covid one) to provide access to printable media for domestic events and international travel if appropriate as well as managing any hospital appointments non covid related. The updates dont work the way you think it does. Again, I know exactly how it works, mainly because I've been working on it since BEFORE the programme began. If someone says they are ITK, you may want to believe them. 1

Not sure it is for staff only anymore, it might have been months ago. However, normal eligibility criteria applies. I used it instead of the NHS booking system when I was eligible in late May/early June. I was not travelling Birmingham way or Derby way to get the vaccine when it was offered in Leicester. I think in the past few months it has become more of a push to get people vaccinated as supply outstrips demand. 2 1

However, when it needed a password - it was. And the OP said he used a password. We used a password to stop non-staff booking. And that is my point.

And of course, a 25 year old (or younger) would not have been eligible until mid-June or so anyway. Bit more relaxed now that the important/vulnerable people have had a chance. Lots of walk-ins etc.
