I would have thought you would have had your shots by now unless you are under 18. There are sights near me who are available for walk up vaccinations. not many U25’s will have had both shots plus two weeks …. Late June was when booking was opened up to 18+ so even if you were able to get a quick jab, it will be later in august before you will double jabbed and into September before the two weeks is up. There will NOT be a policy of double jabbed only at the match.
Raj Posted 24 July 2021 Posted 24 July 2021 If kids are allowed to goto the pre season friendlies and no covid checks etc taking place, why any different now for the charity shield?
Guest WarehamFox Posted 24 July 2021 Posted 24 July 2021 Have I spelt it wrong? Trav the blue might be looking.

Wronggggg I'm 29 and got my first jab the first day I was allowed too, and won't be able to get my 2nd until the 17th August All under 30s won't have 2 jabs unless they were able to get early jabs for health/keyworker reasons.
davieG Posted 24 July 2021 Posted 24 July 2021 I believe they've just reduced the recommended time between the 2 jabs from 12 weeks to 8 as research seems to indicate you get stronger protection at the 8 week point. moore_94 Posted 24 July 2021 Posted 24 July 2021 I am 27, Under 30s were able to book their 1st jab from 8th June I got my 1st jab on 16th June which was pretty much the earliest I could find when I was able to book on 8th June 2nd jab was originally planned for 1st September but I was able to go on the gov website and pull it foward to 11th August which is exactly 8 weeks

Puts the end September date for these things into perspective ….
Illusion35 Posted 24 July 2021 Posted 24 July 2021 My son is 18 and got his jab the day after he was allowed to. His second jab is 8 weeks later, which is 17th August. We will be very cross if the charity shield has a double jab policy, as he’s done all he can to have the vaccine as soon as he could! I don’t believe there will be a requirement to be double jabbed until it is possible for all adults to have actually done that, I’ve read rumours suggesting this might be the end of September for large scale events but may well be no truth in these!

This is the latest from the BBC... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/57905459 Sounds to me like it's going to be covid central. I'm seriously considering not going to any games until Sept.
GlennyFox55 Posted 24 July 2021 Posted 24 July 2021 It will be two jabs or a negative test result which is the guidance for all mass events at present.

I had my 2nd at the KP walk in and they were turning everyone away who was less than 8 weeks unless it was 1/2 days.

fazzyfox Posted 25 July 2021 Posted 25 July 2021 Given up waiting for ticket news so I've applied to be a mascot and also sent Brendan footage of me playing on the right wing (the legendary fazzy thunder thighs five goal extravaganza match) , might be the only guarantee I get to see the game. If Burton can throw in a trialist at the last minute so can we! 3

No actually you're wrong, you just perhaps had to be a little more proactive about it. If you check the Leicestershire hospitals website you can book appointments in advance at the LRI, General or Glenfield. If full keep checking as new one's get included and released on a regular basis. My son aged 20 and a student had his second about a week ago and my daughter 23, a teacher, her second next week. She could have got in a lot sooner but could only manage weekends. My neighbours son 25 had his second 3 weeks ago. The Pepul Centre have had copious amounts to give away and the racecourse and others ringing round for anyone to go in so vaccines aren't wasted of a particular type. If you just sit and wait for people like your local surgery to ring you, you'll wait forever. Get on the Internet or phone and make enquiries. 1
Ashley Posted 25 July 2021 Author Posted 25 July 2021 We have the West End of Wembley Stadium. The end we had for FA Cup final. Green Man will be our official allocated pub. The Arch etc. Ticket prices £20, £25, £35 and £45. 1

I honestly don't understand how some people are working this out. I'm 41, booked my jabs the day it opened to my age group. Had my 2nd at 10.20 this morning. And that's after it was bought forward from the initial 12 week wait. I'm calling bullshit on a 20 year old having a 2nd jab last week, unless the queue was jumped. Edited 25 July 2021 by tom27111 1

It was only 7 weeks and a day since my 1st but was told it was okay as it was into week 8, the amount of time it's now changed to. That was done after receiving a text to say I could bring my initial 2nd dose appointment forward from 17th August. just to add I had my first jab on June 5th, as part of a walk in trial event at Fosse Neighbourhood centre. I'd love to know how your son had his second a week ago - the gap is supposed to be 8 weeks and the NHS has cracked down hard on any clinics and centres going earlier than that because of both supply constraints and efficacy reasons. If he had his first 8 weeks before then that implies he had it on or before 23 May - for context the NHS booking site soft-launched to U20s on the evening of 17 June (I'd know, I spent most of the day refreshing every hour or so) and launched officially on the morning of the 18th. The evidence is there that getting your second early drastically reduces efficacy especially against Delta, so rushing it is pointless. 8 weeks after my first on 27 June is 22 August, which is exactly the earliest I can book on the online system. I will not be looking to have it any earlier Don't call people out on 'sitting and waiting' when there is an obvious reason for it 2
happy85 Posted 25 July 2021 Posted 25 July 2021 There won’t be any double jab requirement not sure where this come from
