I’m all for friendly banter between Lester & City fans even along wembley way. I remember the charity shield game against United. There were fans on both sides being boisterous but never gotta ominous or edgy. Besides after the heat the authorities are taking after the euro final debacle they will be clamping down 200% now as they should because it’s another large televised events. Loads of trouble at Leicester Square and the tube up to Wembley. A lot after the game also. You did well if you didnt see any. 1

Nacho will have a problem with game time. Vardy still have the pace ,movement and reading of the game, the one aspect of his game you would not have anticipated falling away was is ability to finish. He gets that back and off we go, Daka is either his partner upfront or Vardy can play on his own. What we may see this coming season is Vardy getting 60 - 70 minutes then coming off and get replaced by Nacho.

Leicesterpool Posted 18 July 2021 Posted 18 July 2021 Be nice to have proper build up for the fans for what we missed out on in the final. Of course... without the chaos we had in the euros final.

Yes. I don’t imagine either Daka or Soumaré have signed with us to sit on the bench, and I don’t imagine we’ve signed them to do that.

I would say you are correct but Brendan don’t normally just throw new signings straight into the team if he has a choice about it he likes to slowly introduce them into the team

sdb Posted 18 July 2021 Posted 18 July 2021 Belgians won't start and not sure both new signings will either. I'd guess Kasper Ricardo Forfana Evans Bertrand Ndidi Soumare Maddison Iheanacho Vardy Barnes

leicesterseddon Posted 18 July 2021 Posted 18 July 2021 Difficult to say whether Daka or Soumare should start - no harm in giving them a run-out I suppose. Bertrand is obviously more of a known quantity. I still don’t really know whether we’ve bought him as a starter or backup? For me the key in pre-season is giving as much game time as possible to Barnes…
StriderHiryu Posted 18 July 2021 Posted 18 July 2021 I expect the 3412 to be wheeled out again. We played that the last time we played them and whilst we lost I think we did ok. Their overall quality was the difference. I prefer 4231 but whenever we’ve used that against Pep we don’t do well. Maybe the wildcard is that Brendan goes for it. Man City won’t be too bothered about the game but another trophy is a good way to start the season and boost our confidence. If that’s the case we might see Brendan try a new system from the off designed to deal with Man City. They play very centrally and overrun most teams that way so maybe Ndidi, Tielemans and Soumare play there. Maybe even Maddison in there as per @pmcla26’s suggestion but then I’d expect only one striker. Basically Man City are a better team than us. So you either be pragmatic and counter them (which worked once last season), or you come up with something fresh and try to take them on at their own game. Leeds almost did that to them last season. Given this is a one off game I’d personally try and go for it. But I can see the argument either way. Last time we were at Wembley we played conservatively and it won us the cup!

Can see him going to a similar training regime to Huth if his foot injury isn’t manageable/goes away.
HybridFox Posted 18 July 2021 Posted 18 July 2021 I have a premonition that Daka will come off the bench and Pep won't know what's hit them

SkidsFox Posted 19 July 2021 Posted 19 July 2021 Could be a run-out for the old dependables. Albrighton, Choudhury and Amarty.
Wrighty22 Posted 19 July 2021 Posted 19 July 2021 Hopefully they announce it today. Less than 3 weeks to go now.
