I've just found my Voting Poster and it got me thinking to how people would vote now.

Back then just coming out of administration desperately short of £££S and as we were technically a new club it was suggested that we'd be able to improve our marketing revenue if we had the more unique name of Fosse.

So a vote was organised by those attending the game (I can't remember which one but I'm sure someone will).

I think it was clear to see it was a very large majority in favour of City. I wonder if with the media's fixation of referring to Man City as City whether fans would have a different view now although it's easy to see we're very much more well known around the world.

It was Wimbledon. They had no fans there for a reason I can't remember.

Wasn't old enough to vote, but now I'd stay as City. Everything we've won and achieved in recent times has been "Leicester City". We'd lose a lot of that being known and knowledge if we change name.

They didn't have any?

It was in the midst of the discussion about moving to MK I think.

Or very few I think.

I voted Fosse because of its uniqueness and felt right at the time. Amazed how many of those 'C' votes went up.

Prefer City now as we've won all major honours in that name but think we should make more of our heritage by reference to Fosse (although it's Italian for ditch).

I think what is now referred to as the Spion Kop was at one time named the Fosse Stand (or end) which is a much better name.

I think the time has passed now. As others have said, we've achieved everything as City.

That said, I do wish we had retained Fosse though as would have been nice to have had a unique name.

100% agree.

I like the sound of Fosse Stand for one of the stands, even the 'Fosse Family Stand' perhaps. Maybe if the show pitch at the training has enough capacity to be classed as a mini stadium it could be 'The Fosse Ground' or 'Fosse Stadium'. It'd be nice if we could incorporate it somehow, but would definitely rather we stayed as 'Leicester City'.

I think we're too far gone and established as City to change now, but I do love the thought of having a unique name like Fosse if we had it from the start.

I grew up at the back of Fosse Road near where the club was formed and went to Fosse school so personally I'm quite attached to the idea of the name, but wouldn't vote to change it back now.

I'd like to see use the original Fosse colours more often for away kits though.

I was at that game

it was all over when the chant went up ‘city ‘til I die’

I voted Fosse as it felt like we needed a fresh start….  That time has gone though

Oddly I found my voting card the other day (so old it's got the Century FM sponsorship on the bottom!) and was saying to the other half I couldn't believe anyone voted for Fosse. Outside of the City it's got very little significance or relevance. I know it would make us a bit more distinctive like Villa or Orient or Forest but being City and our last 100 years of history is distinctive enough for me.

Besides it's bad enough correcting the forruns about how to pronounce Leicester. Explaining it's just Lest-tah Foss not Lie-chester Fossey or Fossay would be too much :)

I voted Fosse mainly to annoy the people who had been on East Midlands Today complaining about their tattoos no longer making sense.

Love City but Fosse would have made us even more unique.

IMO

Not totally sure which way I voted back then as I swung from one to the other, however I think I stuck with City.

Now it would be an easy choice, City all the way. What’s proving to be the greatest era in the clubs history has begun as City, we’ve become worldwide known as City. Back then was a new start but today we’re something much bigger and respected as much bigger.

They had about 150 if that in the old N Block.

There's only one city was ridiculously loud that day.

We won the League and FA Cup as Leicester City so that's that however....

I wouldn't mind if we changed to Fosse though. Can't be doing with the media calling Man City 'City' at every occasion. It never happened before they became good the cvnts.

Too late now but “Leicester Fosse” is just too cool.

But then again, my fellow Americans have only recently figured out how to say “Leicester.” I would have completely snapped after hearing “Lie-chester Fosseee” for years.
