Thought it was worth a thread on its own. Who would you replace?

I'd change a couple. Ronaldo got the golden boot, but was a few pens, think Schick deserves that spot. Midfield two I'd change too. Xhaka played well, but only played up to the last 16, as did Pogba. Veratti could probably in there, thought Koke was decent too.

Donnarumma

Maehle - Bonucci - Chiellini - Shaw

Rice - Jorginho - Pedri

Sterling - Schick - Damsgaard

Honourable mentions for Dumfries, Spinazzola, Maguire & Dolberg.

Players like Verratti & Chiesa, despite doing well, came into the Italy side later in the tournament, difficult to include them.

I'd take out Dolberg, Xhaka and Mæhle (he played all games on the left, not the right) and put in Walker, Højbjerg and probably Lukaku. Chiesa, Forsberg or Benzema or Damsgaard would be decent shouts too for that last striker spot too.

Tough on Dumfries, Lukaku, Ronaldo, Rice, Jorginho, Chiellini, Spinazolla.

Walker needs in. He was more or less flawless in his sweeping job. The amount of fires he put out before there was even smoke was unreal.

Strange that Spain are not represented at all, despite reaching the semi-final (unlike Portugal, France and Switzerland).

I don't think its just Foxes bias that I would prefer Schmiechel ahead of Donnarumma, not just for his performances between the sticks, but for his contribution during *that* game.

Been announced as

Donnarumma

Walker

Maguire

Bonucci

Spinazzola

Hojberg

Jorginho

Pedri

Chiesa

Lukaku

Sterling

I think Schick has been hard done by there. And Shaw. Spinazzola was quality for the games he played but Shaw was eventually better and played longer.

Surprised with Hojberg! Phillips or Rice should be there instead.

Højbjerg also has 3 assists not to forget.

Think they actually have that team pretty much spot on. Shaw probably ended up edging Spinazzola, but Spinazzola was unreal until he got injured. The left italian side with him and Insigne was near unplayable at times.

Surprised no one has mentioned Pickford. He had a great tournament, kept the most clean sheets and made some really important saves in the latter stages of the competition.

I'm actually struggling to argue with that though , I'd have put Pickford in but both were at an elite level this tournament. Maybe xhaka for Hojberg

I'm surprised nobody has said Pickford didnt put a foot wrong and turned up for every game. Kasper has to be marked down for gifting Finland the 3 points

Can't mark down any of the Danes for that game. It was unique circumstances.

He still ****ed it though whereas Donnarumma and Pickford have pretty flawless records

In fairness they hadn't just watched their mate nearly die a few hours earlier.
