Anyone else not liking Ndidi at CB? Leave him to be the destroyer at DCM, putting him at CB weakens the team at two positions. The only time i'd like to see Ndidi at CB is if there's a injury or were down to 10 men.

Yeah but it'd mean Wilf at the back. The bloke is very prone to falling asleep and losing his position/man and also has a habit of giving away cheap penalties. Never has been and never will be a centre back.

Depends how good Soumare is, issue with Ndidi at CB was losing physicality in the middle of the pitch. And I don't mean the sort who just blunders about committing awful tackles like Choudhury.

He was a CB who got converted to DCM

Definitely Bouba, as Babs says the main issue is losing Wilf's influence in midfield. Bouba gives us something similar but different. Not ideal obviously.

Play players in their favoured positions especially Ndidi. Benkovic, Amartey, Nelson to fill in in that order for me.

KDH and Tielemans would be no better than Mendy and Tielemans defensively and especially aerially. We are not going to play Man City and a Wolves team full of big aerial threats with a 5ft9 midfield pair

Not signing another quality CB will cost us top 4 before a ball has even been kicked.

Agree - do not 'f' about two areas of the Team. Leave Wilf where he does his best work.

Soumare is the Ndidi alternative. KDH is more of an alternative to Tielemans I would say.

Ndidi had a decent one or two games at cb when he was first tried but every attempt since hasn't been as good. We lose control of the midfield too easily when he isn't there

I feel like this would absolutely compromise Wilf's effectiveness on the pitch. His gift has always been disrupting the opposition with well-timed tackles and breaking-up transitional play through the midfield. He's one of the best in the PL.

Too many people on here think a player can play only 1 position. A tall athletic defensive midfielder should be able to play CB without much of a problem. 

 

As for KDH, a lot of you are putting a lot of faith in him on not much evidence. He may turn out to be brilliant but it's too early to say yet.

Move one of the best DMs in the world, weakening that area of the pitch and putting a makeshift CB. Don't see why thats a good idea although Rodgers clearly disagreed on a few occasions last season

I think we'll see Cags and Wilf at CB with Youri and Soumare ahead of them until we make any signings. I know it's not ideal, but I think this is the best we've got at the moment.

 

Of course, you don't want to lose Wilf from midfield and put him in a position that is not where he's best, but we're looking pretty desperate at CB now, and we've also got good CMs coming out of our arse at the same time.

 

Putting Wilf into defence last season was double jeopardy, because it meant a player out of position on top of a weakened midfield. With Soumare and KDH now added to the squad, it's not anywhere near as bad. It's only one-and-a-bit jeopardy now.
