Pretty much bigger than any club he goes to aside from Real Madrid. It’ll be a complete farce anywhere he ends up. If he comes to England they may as well just rename Sky Sports Messi Sports and be done with it - can’t wait.

I reckon this is all to force La Liga's hand to bail Barcelona out of it and he'll end up there after all.

That's what I think too. La Liga's revenue loss would be quite staggering if he leaves Spain (I read around 10%).

Somehow they'll find an agreement before the start of the season. If not, then there's only PSG and MCFC as viable choices. It's then up to him to either reunite with Pep or take it easy while racking up the money in Paris.

Why should MCFC want to risk disrupting their collection of massive egos when they already have the best team in the PL?  If he does go I think it’ll be PSG.

Don't think Man City have enough money to pay his wages on top of the already expensive squad. PSG are more likely to do it.

They could if they don't sign Kane, I think. The perspective of playing Pep could play a role too if he's willing to cut his wages. Just imagine the publicity and the money they could get from signing him.

It'd be a waste to see him losing his 2-3 last years playing in the french league and I would love to see him in the Prem.

Not disagreeing but if Man City want to become the best in Europe, Kane might be the player they should go for. They do not have that outright striker/goalscorer. Yes Messi can do it but the team becomes too focussed on him and would take away from Mahrez/Sterling/De Bruyne etc. Just my view of course. Only time will tell.

Grealish would be gutted if Messi turned up and pushed him aside.

You're probably right. It's just the fanboy in me that wants to see him play in England and watch Ndidi have him in his pocket at the KP.

Yeah I’m sure he’d be well gutted about having 1 of the best players of all time as his team mate lol

There is that, but it's another player ahead of him to displace. Absolutely great player to learn off and train with. Although not sure he is the most hard working in training.

Paris Saint-Germain are confident to find the right ‘deal structure’ soon to sign Leo Messi after opening direct talks since yesterday. PSG are already working on Leo’s potential contract. Flag of ArgentinaPolice cars revolving light #Messi

Been told confidence is growing also in PSG dressing room - Neymar is pushing.

Blatantly going to re-sign for Barca when La Liga move the goalposts.

And see their TV deal drop massively in value with no Ronaldo and Messi involved.

Great footballer but has been enjoying the overpayment on salary for a long time. Now the money might dry up and he will need to get used to reality salary (unless one of the uber rich clubs can pull some strings).  Oh my heart bleeds for him lol

Would love him at city though! We could do another miracle and what a legend he would be for winning us europa and the league. Do it, do it, do it!

Hate to be one of these people who tell rich people how to live their life but if he wants to be there that much, is playing a season or two for free really that obscene of an idea? Even 50k or some shite

If he loved the club and realized part of his wages are why the club is where it is (hey not his issue but lets not pretend it didnt play a part with their overall mismanagement) then i dont see why not? He is so stank arse rich is 1 season going to break him? No.

Now having said that,  cant hate on him if he takes money where he can get it. Is what it is really.

Looks like PSG will somehow manage to sign him  (no backroom deals there with the qatari owners funneling money to messi's dad via some other qatari owned company or something for advertising consulting services lol).

Bet barca wishes they sold him last year when he threw a fit wanting to leave.  Yikes, bad call.

Hope the likes of barca and man city piss off into reality.

Jealous hate, miguided anger rant over haha.

I’d like to see him in the Premier League, just to see how he’d cope with the more physical schedule and to see a player of his ability.

At this point though, by leaving Barca and going to a team like PSG, just proves that he would be chasing money. It should be an uncompetitive league, albeit Lille upset the apple cart last season.

It’s team like Man City, Chelsea, PSG etc etc that made our 15/16 and Lille last year that more satisfying.

Still think we’d have given the UCL even a better go, if Kante had of stayed another season. That would have caused more of a wobble for these Super League elite.

Having seen quite a lot of his matches, I'm pretty sure sure that he would hold his own in the PL and frankly I'm baffled that people think that a player considered by his peers to be up with the greatest, if not the greatest, wouldn't be able to cope in any league he'd play in. Aside from his skills and a very high footballing IQ, people tend underestimate his strength and how many times he gets roughed up, ganged on, yet still manages to stay up and do his Messi things. So unless one goes in flying with the intent of breaking his legs, he'll do just fine. Even at 34. If he doesn't want to come here, it's certainly not because he doesn't fancy his chances imo.

And as far as I remember players like D.Silva, S.Aguero, B.Silva or Mahrez aren't built like units,
