This.

Most goals are the result of defensive errors, one way or another.

Exactly. And actually, what does it matter in terms of a striker?

You could use scoring from mistakes as a legitimate concern around chance creation (if you aren’t creating other chances). But it makes no difference as far as a striker finishing them is concerned. Still need to be in the right positions and anticipate, still need to finish.

If a striker who was liked by the fan base tapped in from a few yards out from a pull back or something, you’d have people saying it was a great strikers finish, in the right place etc.

Honestly if that fake shot shimmy, on the end of the mav cross had gone in, it would have been goals of the season. Great bit of play

Does make me wonder how many he might have had if we had started him as our number 9 at the start of the season rather than that fkin decrepit potato.

Really pleased for him. Hopefully he's not injured and can still play a part on Monday. Give him the confidence after a brace to start putting the ball in the back of the net regularly for these last few games.

I do believe those goals will give him confidence like he’s never had before. Rowett will prob start Ayew Monday as Daka took a slight knock hopefully nothing too serious. Daka could be the saviour of this great club.

Trouble is you can rely on another collective brain fart from almost anyone in the useless bunch

I've never known a player to fall over so much from his own feet.

The one thing you have to credit him with is he keeps trying.

It would be lovely if he had a swan song finish to his career here by keeping us up this season.

Yes he does fall over a lot.But he does have a really good first touch,it's mainly the second and third touches where he founders.

He could keep us up this season.

Just done the maths. We've lined his pockets by £20m over his Leicester career and he's likely to walk away for free at the end of the season.

Some obscene 10 goal haul to keep us up in the remaining games might just make that easier to comprehend but £20m and to think of what he's returned - mind boggling!

It's no wonder he's always smiling. Can't believe his luck can he.

If we stay up, I reckon he’s going to be offered a new long term contract at the end of the season. Five years at 40k/wk so we don’t have to cough up for two new strikers this summer. Whether he takes it or not remains to be seen.

Then we’ll probably buy Tom Cannon.

Cannon & Daka as our strikers for 2026/27… you just can’t rule it out.

Knock the naught off that number and that's more like the budget we'll have next season.

Despite how badly it has gone for him here since 2021/22, I cannot muster up much hate for him. Still like him for some reason. Got to hope he's not injured as I think he could end the season well and then leave on a free to Spain and rediscover his ability to score regularly.

Agree. He seems a good egg, honest lad, I don't think there's ever been any doubt about his work rate and commitment. I think most fans want him to succeed, I also feel sorry for him in many ways (let's ignore the wages etc etc), as he's had to live in JVs shadow, since then, Ayew, the general style of play, doesn't help him, and his confidence has looked through the floor.

Compare him to Faes, add as many names to this list as you like, and he's probably one of the only players I still 'like' from an attitude perspective.

Should be what we’re offering but the mongas are the club are still in denial. Will they have learnt anything from paying a minimum of what, £20k pw for Arribo in January between now and July

Yakubu all over again; get stick but absolutely prolific.

What do we do if he plays like he did on Saturday and scores 10 goals between now and the end of the season and keeps us up:ph34r:

Accept he was still way over paid for but perhaps not as bad as people believe. Appreciate the late efforts but part ways and wish him the best.

That's the dilemma.

It's all about Goals, if he starts delivering goals regularly, then why not give him an extension. But we need to be smarter with our Contracts.

Otherwise we're going to take a chance on another young talent.

He's probably on the same on the same level as Van Basten at the moment

gifted two opportunities but still has to finish them (and be alert enough to get them to start with, can guarantee Ayew gets near neither of them). It's criticism of the creativity behind him but he had to react to get the chances and took them well, the defending is irrelevant there.
