'These two are historic names mentioned again last night'. What does that mean?

Assuming it's just players we've been linked with previously. Not sure why he's worded it like that.

It's going to be someone distinctly average isn't it!

Like Lookman?

Two "historical names" that immediately come to mind are McNeil and Brooks.  Or Patrick Roberts, LOL.

Get that Noni thread back open. The lad's gonna do a Delph, sign a new contract then move on

Jordan Blackwell seems to think its a new link. Let's be honest Blackwell and Bourne don't have that much inside info as we are a very private club in getting business done. It's the agent of players that often make our transfer business public but overseas players mean the information doesn't work its way to the British media until later.

Well its all about opinions isn't it. Mine is that both James and Lookman are average.     Kind of mid table type of signings.     How James ever got signed by Man Utd is an indication of how poor and desperate their recruitment was at the time.

After some of the names we've been linked with, James does seem uninspiring, however history shows we've quite a good record of taking players deemed surplus to requirements from United and turning them into first team regulars.

Although predominantly a RW, Neres has appeared on the left on occasion, so could cover for Barnes as well:

RW - played 124, 66 g+a.
LW - played 41, 17 g+a.

Get it done Rudders, Neres would bring real quality and if we could get him firing could be a world beater

James has one big asset, his pace, but he is a one trick pony.  Technically he is average at best, and his final product is poor.

Not disagreeing. As I said, uninspiring signing if he's who we end up with IMO, but just pointing out how we've turned average looking Man United fringe / youth team players into much better looking players in the past.

Don’t necessarily disagree, however something we need to keep in mind that whoever comes in needs hit the ground running from day one. Lookman, Neres et al are probably going to need a months training before they are in a state to start matches.

Dan James has obviously being playing for Utd since the start of the season and that’s a big plus for us IMO.

Its not Neres.

Blackwell rules out Neres. Looks like it will be a squad player for the left rather than someone good enough to be first choice on the right :(

You also got it spot on about 2 weeks ago.

But someone on here told me yesterday I know absolutely **** all. In fact about three people did, all because they refuse to believe we've given hamza a big contract.

Watch Neres pitch up somewhere on loan with an option to buy. FFS

Goes to Sevilla for 15m, rediscovers himself, wins the Europa League and the Copa del Rey, gets bought by United for 75m.

Yeah, it'll happen. I actually think he'll go to Leipzig.
