He doesn’t feel at all like a player we’d sign.

Brendan likes this type of player, he’s desperate for a player who can be creative both on and off the ball.

Certainly a player Rodgers likes, hence why we looked at the Under it’s clear he wants a technician on that side of the pitch.

For some reason, I’m not feeling this transfer.

He doesn’t fit out stereotypical bracketing, which may not be a bad thing actually.

When you consider Sebastian Haller is considered a top player in the Eredeivise, then you’ve got to question the overall league quality. Haller struggled significantly in the Premier League.

Madueke fitted the bill moreso, however it seems that ship may have sailed.

Whoever comes in has got to be better than both Perez and Albrighton, who would look quite good in this 2nd tier league in Europe.

Maybe someone like Oryazabal, or Asensio, if the rumours persist that they’re both available.

lol the Overmars quote is doing some massive Chinese whispers through Google translate.

All he said was there's no official bid but they're expecting to sell him to someone. That's it.

Doesn't matter if he signs or doesn't sign for Leicester.

We could sign another top 6 or 7 players but BR wouldn't play them anyway.

Might as well save the cash

São Paulo have a sell on clause apparently, so a % of the fee we pay go to them instead of Ajax, which isn’t ideal

.....not sure I follow what you are saying!!!

Are you saying that the price will be increased in order for Ajax to make a bigger profit?

It will  not matter who gets the fee from us, Ajax are the one with the situation to deal with, not us.

Should we take on a sell on clause, then we bring the same situation on our heads, not the club we are selling to.

Like how he never plays Fofana or Tielemans?

My guess is “Leicester have not called” just means no official bid. Doesn’t mean we aren’t working on an offer etc. But it’s Leicester, we will probably pull one out of left field on deadline day that we haven’t mentioned yet.

I don’t think this will happen. Just wishful thinking really because everyone is desperate (myself included) to get a right winger in. No concrete links, just like mudueke. Not sure he fits either.

Hope he’s just protecting the negotiations like most managers do…

He’s the director of football… it’s his job to create the negotiations ;)

… which is probably exactly what he was doing

Which based on how transfers actually work means ajax will be the last people to hear from us once we've sorted his personal terms and his agents.

The way Rodgers spoke to RL yesterday, it seems to me that they have got one identified target who they are in talks for and confident on. The fact he says 'he'll add real quality' should mean we are avoiding a Bennett/Chalobah panic buy or loan for cover purposes.

Whether it's Neres or not I don't know, but I'd be surprised if we weren't sure on the name in the next 24 hours.

I was just thinking this, I can't help but feel it's Neres or Coutinho. The thing is, Coutinho has never played wide right. I'd obviously have him in a heartbeat as we'll get goals and assists from him but it will come at a cost to the rest of the team in how we set up.

Maybe Rodgers wants to sign a new attack minded player and still have a place for Perez in the starting line up ...

I was going to mention Coutinho's name but thought otherwise. He was on the bench today but didn't play and hasn't taken the no 10 shirt as was suggested.

Yes he hasn't played wide right, but he could do the narrow Pérez role. He obviously must be defensively good enough to play under Rodgers/Klopp at Liverpool and then be picked up by a Kovac Bayern team.

Either way it would be one hell of a window to get Neres or Coutinho. Keep everyone we want for the first time in 8 years, all five key areas of weakness filled with quality, our first Brazilian signed. That's 10/10 without a doubt.

Already beginning to make plans to turn up to Brighton away like someone from Rio carnival. I'm jumping the gun aren't I?
