Typical from English police at football. Allow foreign fans to act like ***** and wait for home fans to react so they can add a few extra bans to their tally chart. Maybe I’m not a right minded person but I wouldn’t stand back and see fellow fans get approached with belts being whipped at them and not do anything about it.

I’ve read 0 arrests inside the stadium. LCFC fans will get banned and Napoli fans get away with it.

There'll be a Guardian think-piece on this in a week: '' 'Avin it small : why British hooligans are fighting under CCTV "

Please elaborate..

I do wonder at why this thread was started in the first place but anyway..

It's ugly and needs keeping an eye on but I'm wary of those seeking a world which eliminates all perceived bad behaviour..where there is good there will always be evil.

what did thin Lizzy sing "If the boys wanna fight you better let em". I'm not condoning it ...tribalism and hooliganism is extreme and clearly not wanted but I think it helps to be more philosophical about the problem

Read what he wrote.

Read what YOU wrote in response to his tweet.

Read my response to you slating him for his initial tweet.

THEN do me 100 lines as way of apology "Raj in no way stated anything about the credentials of talksport!"

😁

On a weekend !! You must be mad

Such a shame because we had 5 teams over here in the Champions League and barely any trouble at all.

I'm sure there were plenty of our fans not too disappointed to have a fight but once again when innocent people are caught up in it the line has totally been crossed.

I wish these clowns on all sides would just have it out miles away from the grounds and let the rest of us go to the match and go home again.

My mate and I were saying a similar thing tonight.

At the end of the day, some guys like to fight. So let them get on with it, in an area, with no one else around.

Meet up in the middle of nowhere, and do what you want if it's that important? It's easy surely? You have the internet?? Arrange it.... Kick f**k out of each other, whatever you want. But why do it around those that aren't interested?

Most of us don't like it... the club don't like it!... the city don't like it!...If you do? then crack-on!!! Most of us really don't have a problem with you having a sort-out, but please, meet up somewhere out the way, do what you have to...enjoy it....film it...show it to your mates...get a semi, or whatever!?!

We have lots of families in the ground, lots of young kids!!! They don't need to see this. I remember when I was a kid, coming to watch Keith Weller and Frankie Wortho at Filbert Street. I'd be sh**ting my pants after the game. Every game was 90 minutes of magic as a kid. Surrounded at either end with sh**ting it, till you got to the car.

Like I say, each to their own I guess? But seriously!... It's as dated as black football boots. As welcome as wind on a first date, and not something you want around your family! It is also a sh*t fight most of the time. But if it gets you hard? then great! But fu*k off somewhere else and do it!!!!!

I went to a lot of Alianza games in Lima. No belts allowed in the stadium and if you were wearing one it was taken off you and given back after the match. And this was with no away fans, they liked to scrap amongst themselves!

Will be the same for the game in Napoli

Back in the day of course, when their fans started wielding their belts around, our fans would have started singing "You're hard" in a rather effeminate way, while giving them a limp twisted wave, much as we used to do while being pelted with coins from the away fans next to us, and also responding in kind of course.

I hope they don't ban belts at the stadium, it could lead to a few thousand fans getting life bans for indecent exposure

Evidently not :(

Napoli ultras will be sh2tting themselves when Cliff Ginetta and his coach 1 mob rock up outside the stadium with replica filbert foxes and flasks full of hot soup.

They wont know what's hit them!

Hand in your Primark one and claim an Armani one back.

Do people really think they’d be nice to us over there regardless of the situation over here? Whatever happened they’d be gunning for you, they hate the English and love their reputation. There just might be more of them looking for it now.

They’d have been up for it regardless. It might work the other way in the sense more of a police presence too but that won’t matter shit if you stray into the wrong street
