You're dead right about Napoli fans....they are notoriously violent supporters and i was anticipating some kind of trouble from them the moment i saw the draw.  I was actually quite relieved the Covid travel ban would restrict them from brining over their usual thousands of Ultras who travel as that could have been a nightmare.

However, as bad as Napoli fans are.....let's not forget LCFC fans did have quite a bit of trouble in Spain a few years back......not all our fans are always perfect.

Apart from the car what exactly did we do in Seville from my memory their feds got fed up and started battering us and shooting rubber bullets lol

And that's just a quick search v English teams in Europe imagine what these animals are doing in seria a every week. Lets forget the notion that there's idiots on both sides. This doesn't stack up with the recent history of the two sets of supporters. There was one of the most notorious and violent sets of supporters in Europe armed with weapons and a few Leicester lads acting in self defence and fair play to them for it.

Napoli have a reputation so it brings out the worst in other fans. Plenty of accounts and videos of Leicester fans looking for trouble yesterday. I don't see how you can seriously suggest that Leicester fans were only acting in self defence where there's clear evidence some of them (not all) were the aggressors. I mean that guy in the white t-shirt who came from miles away and jumped into the Napoli end swinging, was that self defence? No that was a violent thug looking for trouble. There were idiots on both sides, why is it that people always feel the need to stand up for Leicester fans even when there's clear evidence that they have acted like dicks.

Violence has no place in society. The Napoli fans wielding belts should be arrested and face punishment and the Leicester fans throwing missiles and punches should also face up to their crimes.

Not what we want to see in the stadium, but let's have some perspective.

Anyone who remembers the Seventies and Eighties wouldn't regard last night's handbags as a riot.

Spanish Police are notoriously crap willy pullers though to be fair!! All English fans, needlessly - all tarred with the same brush of the 1980s violence - even families.

Xenophobic stereotyping right there but its ok because its against the English and they deserve it!

Ok, here's another angle, they (Napoli Ultras) came here to kick off, and to me as l walked through them before the game, looked like one mob. Not dads with kids or any women, a mob, we all know them when we see them everywhere. The way they dress, they way they act etc, we know. These foreign thugs attack anyone unlike in the British lads mostly, so if some lads want to meet them head on surely its taking it away from normal fans who don't want to be involved. I've seen it all over when following England abroad. These scum bags with weapons would be attacking randoms if they didn't have any like minded opposition.

The police are there to stop this, but if they don't and they don't with most foreign teams, then what's the next thing to do ? l guess its down to the ones who are prepared to, and  will step in. The worlds not perfect !

This is how l see it, if the police do nothing then its the normals fans who will get attacked by these cowards with weapons. Perhaps I'm wrong, but do you see my point ?

To be fair, compared to some forces, Leicestershire police are generally quite professional at policing the football. Low profile, but there if required.

Last night however, I think they dropped a bollock. I don't condone the behaviour of our fans, but at the same time you don't just stand back and not defend yourself. Napoli fans were looking for trouble before and and after the game.

I really fail to understand how that group of ultras was allowed to roam around the street tooled up with god knows what with no police escort. Its not like the police had 1000s of away fans to keep watch over. Ridiculous.

In Seville, it was originally two police horses, one of those dark blue police vans and an ambulance. Someone in the crowd outside the pub threw a bottle at the ambulance and it was pretty much down hill from there. People jumping and dancing on cars, and also a local trying to get through the crowd was pulled from his moped.

Again, it was a small minority that caused the issue's to which many had to suffer the consequences of the Spanish Police.

What the group of Leicester fans did was thuggish, but any English match they would have been picked off and taken away. Spanish Police just waded through battening anyone and also using batten rounds into the crowd.

If such a small number of Napoli fans can cause such a problem here, i feel sorry for any Leicester fans travelling to there where that kind of behaviour is common place in football. The kind of country where the police will pay no attention to thugs on mopeds but will batter a brit for drinking in public.

Thought that tweet would come back to bite them. Would think a few defence lawyers might be interested in that account passing comment on the behaviour of those arrested too. Not sure it's strong enough but there's an argument that it would be prejudicial and therefore Contempt of Court.

It can't be contempt of court until the matter has come before a court!

Not true. Legal proceedings are considered active once arrests have been made.

The Napoli fan that he was fighting has in plain of every one taken his belt of stepped across the barrier and whacked a Leicester fan several times in the head with his belt buckle.

The Leicester fan did what the police should have been doing and apprehended him stopping him from using his weapon.

Video below

It wasn't self defence in a personal sense but he was protecting Leicester fans as a whole by tackling the armed thug.

The Leicester fan who was hit was quite clearly also an aggressor in that video. There was absolutely no need for the guy in white to do what he did. No self defence in any sense of the word. Purely just fancied a fight. If you are arguing those Leicester fans are acting in self defence you could just as well argue the Napoli fans are. I mean none of them are but the statement is just as valid either way. I'm just glad that these guys fates aren't being left up to people on this forum because I for one welcome the life time bans/convictions they'll no doubt rightfully receive.

If your walking through town today and someone aggressively takes there belt off and starts swinging round there head walking towards you or another member of the public threateningly then twats someone with it several times. then you are well within your rights to subdue him with reasonable force.

It should be no different in a stadium.

Can’t believe the naivety of the Leics coppers just allowing them to stroll around. Every police force in Europe would have had them

on a virtual bubble trip

Leicestershire coppers were a ****ing embarrassment yesterday, both in person and on Twitter. Useless.
