I presume paying up up contracts is an option, if the player is agreeable, if squad size becomes an issue (which I don't think it is)

Personally, I'm not concerned at the moment. I think there's a bit of a holding pattern going on at the moment but nothing that won't get sorted in good time. Worst case scenario is we don't sign, or sell, anyone and whilst hardly ideal won't be the end of the world. BR will just have to find some new tricks and methods to 'freshen up' the squad. Down to him after all.

It'll happen when it does.

This 'bloated squad' theory, isn't actually correct though, is it? We have 27 senior players. Bearing in mind the ideal is 24-25 players, hardly that concerning.

It's not and we were in this position at the start of last summer too there or thereabouts but I suppose given bare minimum we need 2-3 new players then having to get 6-8 out the door is a big task.

So that would be two players being paid to train. Regardless of who they were, we would probably be looking at paying over 100k a wee for players not even registered in the squad.

I am also wondering if it is affecting our signings. If you were being recruited to be Tielemans replacement you might want to see him holding an Arsenal shirt before signing. Same for anyone coming in to fill Cags slot (although such a player would probably be more confident of being ahead of him on the team sheet.)

When every player is back,  Seagrave will more crowded than Hong Kong.  We really do need to shift some unmovable objects, but this is akin to selling Porn Mags at a Church Bazar.

Tbh I think you'd do a roaring trade, certainly easier than trying to offload Bertrand.

I can remember when going for a slash cost a penny.  Inflation I suppose.

Do you know what, scratch that! If you look on our website, we only have 25 senior players listed. Praet and Iversen aren't currently mentioned. It's not a bloated squad. It's a case of moving one in one out as we go, trying to re-balance in areas we're short. I'm not panicking, or concerned.

I cannot wait for when they sign someone, so all these moaning, impatient self proclaimed know it alls stfu. Just because we havent signed someone in the first 2 weeks means absolutely nothing. Lets get some facts straight here, We have no pulling power like Chelsea / Man City / Liverpool so dont expect players giving their ballsacks to sign on the dot asap. We need to get rid of players before we can go ahead with new signings or we run risk of an influx of a wage bill per week. Yes im sure LCFC want to get business done quickly but thats life nothing comes easy for a self funded club that cant rely on sponsors / fan £$£££ to come in to offset the worries.

The business model im afraid gives us troubles with each year other clubs become richer IE Newcastle and others, making it harder for us to compete. I could go on for ages about how many variables /obstacles the club has to go through for a player to sign. so please give the respect and time they deserve because this aint something you know or could handle yourselves. k thanks

it’s nothing to do with our pulling power. It’s all to do with our pushing power!

I know it’s not really allowed these days, but i really think we need to consider if Rudkin is the problem here.

yes he made some good deals early on but his last year and a half has been honking! Terrible deals, overpaying fringe players and he has to take the buck for us being stuck with so much deadwood… Brendan wasn’t out there offering vesty 80k, he may have requested him but it’s for the DOF to say that’s too much!

Wether they are mentioned on the website or not, they are there. They do infact exist. We've seen them, they are not fvcking ghosts. They are at our club and we pay them, fact and we will continue to pay them wether they are registered for next year's squad or not. That's the point. We don't want to be paying players that we can't use.

Yes, yes, I do understand this. I have a grasp of simple maths. I’m just trying to put the ‘bloated squad’ phrase to bed. We simply haven’t got one

What i will find funny is that if that 1st person is someone not mentioned yet we will get the chorus of "Leicester do it again quietly go about their business then bam from nowhere we get 'X' i fec'ing love this club & the way it does it's business....."

lol

But who the feck is X?  That’s the question. Not sure anyone really good hasn’t been mentioned. I doubt we will do much and shifting our deadwood seems like it will be very difficult.

I agree. Bloated would be a 25 man squad with one in, one out. Two over our maximum squad allowance is beyond bloated.

LOL i know, its why we are the worst fanbase in football. too many disgruntled and divided opinions has created this smell that lingers and wont quite go away. #getting worse #newnottsforest

If our squad is bigger than it needs to be or is allowed to be then it is by definition bloated

Isn't that exactly what Fofana did

At #LCFC , we must free ourselves from Boubakary #Soumare before starting the second in the Amadou file #Onana . The middle of #LeicesterCity enjoys interest in #Ligue1 and #SerieA in loan with option to buy. Of which the #ASMonaco . File therefore closely linked to that of #Onana . #LOSC
