Corky Posted 9 January 2022 Posted 9 January 2022 Unless we're selling Maddison I don't see the point. Even then I'd hope we get somebody better than Cantwell. 3
Hales Posted 9 January 2022 Posted 9 January 2022 I guess it depends if he is happy to be a squad option and wait for his turn on the bench? I wouldn't say no and I think Brendan could work with him but I think he wants to play regularly.
Edingleyfox Posted 9 January 2022 Posted 9 January 2022 (edited) Might look at bit odd if we try to sign him when we have one fit centre back at the club and we are postponing matches. Not sure he is better than what we have. We have been linked with him before but would be amazed if there is anything in this at the moment Edited 9 January 2022 by Edingleyfox
Guest TaggertvsWise Posted 9 January 2022 Posted 9 January 2022 Last time we spent £15 mill on a player we got Vestergard. We should be shopping in a different basket now if we want to target Prem players. Move on.
sphericalfox Posted 9 January 2022 Posted 9 January 2022 Whilst Cantwell is Maddison-lite, it's been obvious that when Maddison is absent (and not on form) we are struggling for ideas. If Tielemans is going to depart this summer, then we've got build in some backup, and rotation options. For £15m it's not a bad shout given the positions he can play, but I can see why people aren't enthused too. If it's his attitude or historical behaviour, I'm sure Brendan can sort that out. If I played for Norwich I'd be frustrated too. 3

TJB-fox Posted 9 January 2022 Posted 9 January 2022 Was the best player on the pitch when we played at Carrow Road earlier in the season, thought he was their only bright spark. Having said that, we were horrendous that day. Can’t see where he fits in though, money best spent elsewhere methinks.
Guest Kopfkino Posted 9 January 2022 Posted 9 January 2022 He’s not yet had a good Championship season. He had 10 games at the start of 19/20 and that’s it. Turns 24 next year. Should be going to Middlesbrough for about 500k
foxfanazer Posted 9 January 2022 Posted 9 January 2022 He'd be my early nomination for Foxestalk scapegoat 2022-23
Duquesne Whistle Posted 9 January 2022 Posted 9 January 2022 Dude looks like a lady. At least there'd be a ready made song for him. No from me.

Lambert09 Posted 9 January 2022 Posted 9 January 2022 I’ll go against the grain here... does a player like that look good in a relegation scrap? No... but for a club on the front foot in games, yes. I have the feeling he could go the same way as grealish, someone we all thought was rubbish when villa were struggling as well. The boy has talent and 15m is peanuts in this market 3

moore_94 Posted 9 January 2022 Posted 9 January 2022 (edited) Possibly in the summer but not at the moment No chance should we be spending £15m on Cantwell this month when we desperately need reinforcements in defence Even in the summer there is likely to be a lot of other positions needing focus more than a cover player like Cantwell Edited 9 January 2022 by moore_94 2
Foxes96 Posted 9 January 2022 Posted 9 January 2022 Would rather make Lookman permanent in the summer than sign Cantwell, as the versatile attacker/ Barnes rotation option. Still think we need a starting quality RW in the summer as a priority 4
South Shire Fox Posted 9 January 2022 Posted 9 January 2022 I rated him in the 19/20 season when we were linked but he does seemed to have nose dived off a cliff recently so its a definite no. Comes across far too cocky for who he is aswell (that storming off down the tunnel after being subbed).
