I was about to rage as I logged in and saw this as a new topic... thought it was gonna be in the transfer section "shall we sign...".

Any chance we can use Vardy as bait to entice Haaland to come here to learn directly from the guru?!

A secondary question stemming from this, talking of gurus and lineages, does this make Kevin Phillips Haaland's footballing grandpa? Because Vardy certainly came on leaps and bounds learning from him! - Often forgotten.

Haarland is the type of striker you get when you edit a players attributes on Football Manager by typing in 20 for each one… respect him more for being a student of the game (and namedropping Vardy of course!)

Daka is good at that too I’ve noticed. Hardly ever finds himself offside.

The Phillips time as a coach is an interesting one. I noticed that the striking of the ball was better. Clean hit with intent. Hopefully one day we get to read about the influence (if any) in an Autobiography.

I was very disappointed when Phillips left. Thought he was very good for the team. It’s always great to have good mentors and learn from the best.
haarland coming here. How many pints have you had?  I’ll be thinking about that now all evening.

This has been a major problem I have had with Nacho's time here: He is horrible about being in a offside position.

....he tends not to be in too much of a rush to get back as we have lost the ball and the play is moving in the other direction!!!

The problem is that should we win the ball back quickly he now has taken himself out of the attack and we are not as potent as we should be.

Read that Steve Walsh scouted him for Everton acouple of years ago, even gave a tour to him and his father of Goodison Park and the training ground.

But the board at Everton weren't convinced of the the lad (maybe he was to cheap and not well none)

Maybe we might of got him if Steve Walsh had stayed at Leicester.

....Walshie has had his reputation shredded by his Everton tenure!!!

The quality he had assembled was a great, a decent manager would have had a field day with the choices he had but he managed to fail mess that up. It would not have mattered who was brought in, Koeman was going to mess it up.

So strange to think we have one of the greatest strikers in the world. He’s the greatest Leicester player of all time. His first season I would of happily got rid of him aswell!! Anyone deserves a statue it’s Jamie Vardy. He should have a few in Leicester tbf.

More likely that when he signs for a Barca / Real / PSG / Man City, they buy Vardy from us.
