Burnley have their own new boy on the

Block..

I actually see a close/hard fought bottom 6-7fight,with good runs from

all...40pts must still be the minimum.Amazes me every season how neutral/endangered club fans always get it wrong...

The quicker we get Vardy back also the

better..but one must cleverly decide not

Too push his length of minutes in each

game...

There ,every fan will have their own opinion..some will concentrate stupidly

on their opinions on Rodgers, and not the needs of team & Vardy..

Trying to pull a losing game back,is difficult & can create more stress injuries...IMO Vardy gets the first 50-60 Minutes max..Though contradictively

his first game the last 20mins no matter the situation. If winning..last 10-15, for a run out..

Good to see him back if true. Excellent option off the bench as he works his way back into form. Daka and the rest look to be starting to gain an understanding that is a benefit for the future of this club.  It'd hate to see that be taken lightly. Vardy has to earn his place back.

Really? 😳

Absolutely agree and it should have been the same for all players coming back from injury. Who knows what long term damage can be done to long term injured players like JJ for example. Ricardo and Soyuncu were dealt with shabbily  following injury and it makes you wonder about Barnes and Maddison too. JJ and Fofana need easing back gradually over the next few weeks to ensure their fitness for next season.

well the truth is we don't have any reliable information about the process is managed at the club. The Club is managing playing  assets worth millions and so are likely to be heavily leaning in  to advice from medical staff and fitness and conditioning coaches. It's also likely that players are desperate to get back to playing again- Wes was talking about resuming playing in 2021 at one time-and this may need reeling in a bit

Yes Really. People complain about throwing players in to soon after injury. So which is it? Too soon or not soon enough? I'm sure it will be Rodgers fault regardless:rolleyes:.

I think the current case of JJ is significant. Too much too soon? It matters not that players are keen, you wouldn't hopefully expect otherwise but sometimes they need protecting from themselves. After such a long lay off the sheer pace and physicality of the Premiership surely needs a gradual and fazed return to full potentially twice a week action. Obviously a manager, particularly our failing one, will want his best players out there as much as he can. If it's a choice of his failing arse and the long term good of the player, the latter wins every time for me. Arguably Vardy has been kept on the pitch too long unnecessarily on more than one occasion when carrying an injury or hobbling about.

tbf, in his last game, he played on with an injury for the last 15mins or so as we had used all our subs. was only there as nuisance value, but no choice really. Had we been able to, he would have been taken off. unlikely that the injury was exacerbated by staying on and hobbling about, the damage was already done. Any team/manager/player would have done exactly the same thing in the circumstances

....why keep him on, he could not add anything to the team, better if we had taken him off!!!

We have kept players on the pitch that turns out there injury to be long term injuries, we seem incapable of diagnosing injuries on the pitch, we seem poor in the medical areas, it really cannot be just bad luck. Every week there is another player breaking down and we put it down to luck, when does it become something else.

Vardy should definitely not have been played when he had a hamstring niggle. It would have been better to play anyone up front instead of risking making it worse. ACLs obviously need time but even in the rehab minor setbacks are to be expected regardless of whether they play or not. It is part of the rehab process. I had two ACL ops and good consultants and physios to help with rehab. Both times I was told to expect setbacks and sure enough it happened. Really pixxxed me off at the time but ultimately it was part of the healing process.

How can anyone be a Daka  fan yet? He’s not done much to date, yes he looks a livewire in the box and can finish if given a chance, but very poor back to goal currently. Reminds me of Mark Bright when we had him briefly at the start of his career, the plus point being Bright went on to be a top player with Palace, and given time Daka can do the same.

Well he averages one good injury a season so now that’s out the way he should be ok.

Yeah, always tends to have Xmas and January off.

Prior to Daka's injury at Xmas he'd been playing in a front 2 and looked way more purposeful, held the ball up better as he had players around him and not only was he scoring but assisting too. Since Vardy has been out and he's returned, Rodgers has opted to play him on his own where although he's scored 3 goals in 6 games he's not looked as polished in his performances.

He's built his devastating reputation in a 4-3-1-2 / 4-2-2-2 at Salzburg and carried that on in a similar system with us so this is on Rodgers I'm afraid. He needs a lot of developing to lead the line on his own.

He is a Michael Owen type. Owen always needed a more physical foil to be at his most dangerous. The only player we have of that type who can also match Daka's pace is probably George Hirst.

Is George Hirst rapid? genuinely wasn't aware he was quick.

Did he have that physical partner at Salzburg? He tended to play with Adeyemi or Berisha, neither I'd class as physical beasts. I think what he needs is a link man like Iheanacho or even Barnes which we did seen in games before Xmas. Even alongside Vardy he looked more comfortable than up top on his own with the wingers or Maddison too far away from him.

I think he'll become more resolute like Vardy has but its really no great hardship to play him with Iheanacho given we're hardly doing very well in a 4-3-3 at the minute.

The discouraging thing is that Vardy usually goes through a few weeks of not being able to 'hit a cow's backside with a banjo' when he first returns from injury.

It would be good if he could hit one of his 'can't miss' streaks, but I fear the ones where he runs around a lot and can't get into the game.

At least nobody will criticise him if he only manages 20 odd touches a game. Lukaku has set a new low with that particular measure.

Definitely not lol

If it's an impact knock then sure, hobble about. You don't leave someone on with a pulled muscle, it's only going to get worse
