The discouraging thing is that Vardy usually goes through a few weeks of not being able to 'hit a cow's backside with a banjo' when he first returns from injury.

It would be good if he could hit one of his 'can't miss' streaks, but I fear the ones where he runs around a lot and can't get into the game.

At least nobody will criticise him if he only manages 20 odd touches a game. Lukaku has set a new low with that particular measure.

Wouldn't be surprised given he now has serious competition that he hits the ground running, the man finds new depths within himself.

How can anyone be a Daka  fan yet? He’s not done much to date, yes he looks a livewire in the box and can finish if given a chance, but very poor back to goal currently. Reminds me of Mark Bright when we had him briefly at the start of his career, the plus point being Bright went on to be a top player with Palace, and given time Daka can do the same.

I'm a Daka fan.  I'm behind all of our players unless there is enough evidence to suggest they are not up to standard.

Daka is work in progress with a good scoring record.  He will improve.  Another work in progress who might come good is Soumare.

Is George Hirst rapid? genuinely wasn't aware he was quick.

Yes he is fast for a big guy but his conversion rate so far is poor. However he is a strong player and we lack that. I haven't given up on him yet.

Did he have that physical partner at Salzburg? He tended to play with Adeyemi or Berisha, neither I'd class as physical beasts. I think what he needs is a link man like Iheanacho or even Barnes which we did seen in games before Xmas. Even alongside Vardy he looked more comfortable than up top on his own with the wingers or Maddison too far away from him.

I think he'll become more resolute like Vardy has but its really no great hardship to play him with Iheanacho given we're hardly doing very well in a 4-3-3 at the minute.

That may be the difference between here and Austria , here you get Tarkowski and Dunk who will bully anybody who doesn't stand up to them. He is not a small player Daka so let's hope he starts using his body more effectively.

That is so true. Will be great to see the GOAT back. We should cherish every time he puts on the shirt.

Anyone who bags 4 goals in one game in a European competition for us, I am a fan of. He's also got a lovely smile.

...perhaps he is not being judged on his time at this club, he has played elsewhere before!!!

...conversion rate has fallen down with his most recent loans!!!

My take on this is the way they have attempted to use him. As a big guy in height, there is a tendency to play him a certain way, when he is much better with the ball on the ground. He has picked up recently and now getting starts and thank heavens they have seen what he is capable of and are now looking to play to his strengths. An absolutely relentless runner and plays the full 90 minutes.

International caps 13 international goals 7 for the U20s.

Just saw this on BBC

  • Leicester have won 40% of their top-flight games this season with Jamie Vardy in the starting eleven, compared to just 12.5% without him.

And Vardy took a while to get going.

Yep people talk about Tielemans being our best player or Ndidi or Evans being our most important or whatever, but Vardy is still, even at his age, easily our best and most important player and has been since about 2013.

Having Vardy on the pitch is much bigger than goals. Yes, he is a great goal scorer but he probably has the highest standards in the whole squad. Completely hypothetical but had he been playing at Forest, there is no way they would have battered us. He would have probably thrown punches in the dressing room.

Vardy sets the tone for the whole team, really excited to see him back but I do worry about relying on him too much!

Given the qualities of the next 2 sides, I think we keep carry for Leeds. I’m not expecting Leeds to be a completely different side in less than a week

He is basically Leicester City Football Club. Just a whole different proposition and no idea how he’ll ever be replaced
